Orwell Bridge Pedestrian access route, 21st November
The pedestrian access route over the Orwell Bridge ( both directions) has vegetation growing from the pavement and that combined with the litter and waste is an obstacle and hazard to any pedestrians and cyclists. I understand the bridge is to be closed for a number of evenings for bridge maintenance and therefore please can you arrange for this to be attended to

West Bound Drains are blocked with weeds and grass, 10th July
I fear the blocked drains (well they should be blocked with weeds and grass growing out of them) will cause the road surface to be even worse in a HEAVY rainfall / storm conditions. Suggest urgent remedy.

East and west bound, 14th June
You had an accident about 4-5 weeks ago on the Orwell Bridge and lowered the already reduced speed limit (60) further to 40mph while on the bridge, this I presume was until you have repaired the two missing uprights on the Armco. Please advise when this issue will be resolved and the 40 mph returned to 60 mph as said previously the lower speed limit has been in place for 4-5 weeks now. Many thanks

Bridge signage wrong, 27th May
I understand the bridge was reduced to 40mph while repairs are carried out but it been 3 weeks now, the barrier while slightly damaged is not encroaching or leaning into the road and the ensuing traffic backlog and chaos from reducing 70mph to 60 to 40 is very dangerous and grinds to a complete halt at rush hour. It will cause chaos when the Suffolk show is on next week. Please return to 60mph ASAP! Also most people don't understand you can return to 60mph after the bridge and continue along slowly.

A14 Variable speed limit signs, 20th May
The variable speed limit signs in the vicinity of the orwell bridge are currently limiting speed to 40 mph; it is understandable that the speed limit is in place on the approach to the damaged safety fence but the signs beyond the east and west extermities of the bridge (ie after the section of damaged fence) are also showing 40mph ; there is no obvious reason for the signs after the damaged fence to be displaying a reduced speed limit. Please change these signs to 60mph or advise whu a 40mph limit is appropriate

A14 bridge safety fence not repaired, 20th May
The safety fence on the central reserve was damaged over a week ago as a result of a road traffic accident ; temporary repairs have been carried out and the Highways Agency was quoted in the local press to say that permanent prepairs would be carried out this week .The repairs are still outstanding. From the day that the bridge was opened iot was obvious that at some time it would be necessary to repair the barrier therefore the Highways Agency should havve spare components in stock. Please advise when repairs will be completed and why spare components were not in stock
