Blockage to passage along PROW caused by severe damage to two fights of wooden steps on the steep ascent of Brierley Wood., 3rd February

Thu, 03 Feb 2022 08:00:32 +0000
52.194107 -2.741457

The damage is severe and difficult - if not impossible - to negotiate without danger. The steps lie on a variation of LEOHER2, part of the national Slow Ways network:https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Leoher/4288 I am posting this variation - up the steps - to the Slow Ways website because it avoids a lengthy road walk west out of Leominster.

Iron obstructions left in road verge, 2nd September

Thu, 02 Sep 2021 10:42:50 +0100
52.200261 -2.737733

Someone has been putting hazards in the way of oncoming traffic for years. Previously it was rocks on the verge which caused a car crash and damage to property (reported on this site). Since the car crash these rocks have been replaced with iron bars (equally dangerous). There is also illegal speed signage erected entering and leaving the area. The iron bars blocking the verge need removing. The illegal speed signage at either end of the area ALSO needs removing.

Road Markings Incomplete - Very Dangerous!!, 26th August

Wed, 26 Aug 2020 15:25:10 +0100
52.191954 -2.719124

Since the road has been resurfaced, the waiting box in the middle of the road has not had the diagonal white lines added, as before. It is very dangerous when waiting there to turn right, as when approaching the box from the opposite direction it looks like an overtaking lane. Potential for a head-on collision. All other turning right boxes have these markings ahead. One of my images is taken from Google Maps where you can see the lines which were there. This turning is on the A49, Leominster, on the turning to Stoke Prior/The Grove Gold Club

Footpath overgrown, 24th February

Sun, 24 Feb 2019 11:07:55 +0000
52.204656 -2.740727

The map shown is out of date, but the path goes through bushes where starlings roost, and the bushes are very dense so necessary to crawl underneath. Would be important to wait for them to leave at end of February before disturbing, and there is a lot of bird poo so beware!

Log pile safety?, 24th February

Sun, 24 Feb 2019 10:57:06 +0000
52.203683 -2.740984

A large pile of logs adjacent to the footpath is very inviting for youngsters to climb on, whilst it is fairly stable untouched, it could pose a danger when climbed on to watch the murmerations, is not fenced off nor any warning signs. It is possible to fall between the piles and get trapped. Not an acute problem but has existed for some time.
