Gateway obstructed by hay feeder., 23rd September

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 09:21:49 +0100
52.12728 -3.168549

Round hay bale inside a metal feeder has been placed to obstruct the gateway on a council maintained LoS highway. This has been there for a considerable time, and led to a build up of silt, well over 30cms deep from the hay and dung from the animals feeding here. It is unsafe to attempt to even walk on it.

Hedge cuttings left in the highway., 4th May

Sat, 04 May 2013 14:30:24 +0100
52.126250967682 -3.172150890671

When substantial hedge trimming was undertaken last year, the off-cuts were left in the highway, making it necessary to take to the grass at the side of the road. Whilst it is possible to pass, the grass slopes downhill, causing a danger and inconvenience. There is quite a build up of soil on the road, which was once a stoned road, and was level. Now it is on a slope, and is problematic when very wet. Ideally it requires scraping back to a level surface.

Gate insecurely fixed., 4th May

Sat, 04 May 2013 14:23:52 +0100
52.124353961822 -3.1754553721772

Gate opens so far, then drops about one metre, causing a danger. This is on an unsealed road, and the road is reasonably satisfactory given it's location, but the gate presents a danger.

Passing places, 25th August

Mon, 25 Aug 2008 13:53:39 +0100
52.1106131914146 -3.18228900003944

I have noticed that during the past couple of years the number of vehicles travelling along this lane has increased, although very few of us actually live along its length. It is used increasingly as a cut-through to and from other places. There are no designated, metalled passing places and in some stretches even gateways are at some distance apart. The verges are treacherous, especially in wet weather and when the grass is too long to see where the ditches are located. It would be extremely useful and much safer if passing places were constructed at reasonable intervals along the length of the lane. I do hope that the Council will be able to help in this matter.
