Road and pavement outside 15-17 Dovecote, HP17 8BP, 25th April
This flooding outside 15/17 Dovecote has become progressively worse over the last 4 weeks. There is a constant stream of clean water that rises from a soakaway drain in Marriott's lane and runs downhill into Dovecote. The stream does not vary regardless of weather. Clearly, the soakaway drains between Marriott's lane and Dovecote are full so the water is finding its way to the low point outside mine and my neighbour's houses, resulting in a permanent lake across the road. As I understand it, when my neighbour reported the same problem to your department, you advised that we should speak to Thames Water. In turn, they advise that they need a report from you. I repeat, the stream is constant, regardless of weather conditions: we've had a number of dry days but the water flow keeps coming. I've lived here for 20 years and experienced a lot of constant and heavy rainfall in that time. Prolonged rain often results in a flood outside our houses but the soakaway normally disposes of the flood in hours. However, it cannot cope with this constant flow of water. Although the stream rises from a gully drain it has all the characteristics of a burst water pipe. Please can you help by liaising with Thames Water and arranging a joint visit to determine the problem and the action needed.

Crucial pavement has been blocked by scaffolding - This means that access to the pavement has been blocked without any signage or diversion, 25th April
Scaffolding has been erected across the pavement which means pedestrians access is prevented. This is a crucial pavement for many people and especially young children walking to school. Please could this issue be reviewed and resolved asap as currently pedestrians have to cross a very busy road in a place without much vision at all. It is dangerous in my opinion.

Overgrown hedge reducing highway width, 25th April
Dadbrook House has a very large box hedge on the west of Dadbrook which is over hanging the highway and a lack of maintenance has caused the earth verge to encroach onto the highway.
Buses and HGV's now need to drive around 50cm over the white lines directly into oncoming traffic to get past which led to my wife being run off the road on the opposite kerb to avoid a head on collision.
This has been an issue since at least summer 2023. I have raised it with the home owner but they do not wish to cut the hedge back properly because they believe it is protected.

Large and deep pothole that has been reported a number of times, including by me, and been informed its been repaired. If this is genuinely the case, it is almost immediately failing and requires a more permanentsolution. It's been full of water for some time which masks just how deep it is. Anecdotally, I've heard of several drivers that have damaged their vehicles driving over this. It is a matter of time before someone ends up seriously hurt swerving to avoid it or being catapulted into the verge.
