Traffic backlogging and filtering, 8th February
Broad St needs the near side lane to be closed, from Orange St to the Northgate St junction, to avoid ‘log jamming’ vehicles in Broad St and creating dangerous situations at the traffic lights. Although contractors have placed temporary ‘road narrows’ signage before the working area at the head of Winding Rd this is being ignored by traffic and thus exacerbating the traffic flow problem at the traffic lights. Planning for these works seems to be lacking cohesive thought, as traffic light sequence and road space at the Winding Rd junction need to be reconfigured to ease the traffic flow. PLEASE do something about this asap because it has been going on for weeks.
