Dangerous stretch of road, 22nd June
This stretch of road is so worn and slippery it is an extreme danger to all road users exacerbated by it being on a hill. The surface of the tarmac is totally worn and the stones below polished. In 15 years of living in the village it has never been repaired to my knowledge. In fine weather it would be hazardous and when the surface is wet it will be significantly more so. The slipperiness is of huge concern to me and there are several potholes also. Please please consider resurfacing this stretch of road with urgency it would be hugely appreciated.

Potholes and extreme slipperiness, 14th April
The tarmac has worn through to the underneath stones which have been polished to such a state that they are extremely treacherous for horses and bicycles especially. I have recently had a horse fall onto me because she slipped on the slippery surface and couldn’t get grip to get back up - even with road studs in her shoes.
I believe cars would also struggle to stop in wet conditions.
Please consider resurfacing this section of road as a matter of urgency. Many thanks

Sunk road surface and watermain service valve manhole, 12th June
This has been here for at least three months and appears to be sinking further. Position on the carriageway, on the nearside in the Hawkley direction, is such that it is almost impossible to avoid hitting it with the nearside wheels of all 4 wheeled vehicles. Particularly dangerous to cyclist when wet and filled with water.

Fridge-freezer and chest freezer dumped on a roadside verge of ecological importance, 31st December
Old fridge-freezer and chest freezer dumped on RVEI within the past couple of days. Rotting contents of chest freezer however suggest it was disconnected more than two days ago. Rust and mildew on exterior suggest the items were previously stored in an unheated outbuilding.

Fridge, carpet and other rubbish, 6th March
A fridge, a car tyre, an old carpet and a large number of smaller items have been recently dumped on BOAT 20 near the point where the byway starts to climb towards Warren Farm. Fairly easy to access from the Telephone Exchange end of the by-way. Clean for the Queen team took several bags of portable rubbish but this was too much for us!
