Why Bother Reporting Issues?, 30th April
After reporting the same issue three times online and once via telephone, I am told that the issue is "not a priority". Fair enough - but in that case, why have a tick-box labelled "Loose/rattling cover/ironwork" if there is never any intention of attempting to rectify such a problem? It seems to be yet another example of "keep at arms length / do nothing / hope that the problem goes away". Sadly, it will not. The issue might not be important to many, but it is to the residents of the houses in the immediate vicinity - myself being one. So, I ask again, can something PLEASE be done? The issue concerns the manhole cover outside number 49 Lords Hill. Priority or not, there is a problem which ought to be addressed. Advising me to keep the Highways Department informed should it deteriorate and thanking me for reporting the issue achieves nothing. There is an issue. It has been reported - several times. It might not be "top priority", but that does not make it trivial. I remain hopeful that somebody might yet see reason and have the issue rectified soon. Surely, this is not too much to ask?

Rattling Manhole Cover., 25th April
The manhole cover in the middle of the road outside 49 Lords Hill in Coleford rattles loudly each time a car travels over it - which happens frequently, due to the narrowness of the road and the volume of traffic. It looks OK and isn't dangerous, but it is a severe noise nuisance. All covers make a noise - but this is exceptional. I have contacted Gloucester Highways by phone, but nothing has been done to rectify the problem. Surely something can be done - please!
