Seriously Speeding Vehicles, 1st May

Living on Merrylee Park Avenue we know that the road at certain times of day can be predictably busy with general through traffic , school buses, school children walking to and from school and a generally older population in the vicinity going about there business. How ever the amount of excessive speeding coming from Fenwick Road or Braidbar Road going in each direction is terrifying and it is only a matter of time before somebody is killed in the process. One particular where Mercedes must be hitting 80 mph ( guesstimate) each Monday afternoon at approximately 2.50 pm. Maybe going to pick kids up from the primary school just down the road. I will try and get a video next Monday. How do we go about introducing some sort of speed restrictions for this road ? There is also a blind hump in the road which means it's pure luck nobody is coming out of the drives or crossing the road. My 89 mother crosses the road to simply go shopping and have her hair done and is now terrified to step off the pavement for the idiots who think this is acceptable ?? Please can you put in the right direction for help before somebody gets killed.

Obviously giant hogweed is very toxic and dangerous and its growing at the basketball court perimeter and on the grass surrounding. This is right next to a kids play area and a very popular place for people to walk dogs, this must be sorted immediately.

Dangerous potholes along this stretch of road, 20th April

Sat, 20 Apr 2024 19:14:58 +0100
55.836113 -4.30139

This road has been in bad state of repair for months. I am very careful to avoid the holes but unable to avoid huge one in middle of the two west bound lanes just past entrance to Norwood Playing Fields today. Yet another spring gone! This whole stretch of Dumbreck Road is in shocking state of repair. Ironically the council spent tens of thousands of pounds tinkering with the road junction and traffic lights where it joins Haggs Road last year when it was perfectly fine, all the time ignoring the state of the road surface. No idea how they prioritise that level of expense for something which was fine but seem unable to maintain the roads to a safe standard.

Consistent flooding, 10th April

Wed, 10 Apr 2024 13:15:02 +0100
55.822943 -4.301928

The bus taxi and cycle lane at this location are permanently flooded and this spreads to both lanes of the carriageway and onto the pavement after a period of rain. This causes traffic to build as taxis and cycles have to move into the right hand lane to pass. Cyclists and pedestrians are at risk when trying to pass without being hit by a vehicle, or drenched in the process. The area has been flooded for months and gets much worse after any rainfall.
