Redundant fencing lying around for years, 2nd April
The metal fencing that was erected around the time Riverside Quay was being built is still lying around Forthside way unnecessarily, in some cases scattered down the embankment between the road and the path along the river. There has been no clear purpose for it to be serving since the building was completed, which was several years ago, so it has just been left there as, at best, a horrible eyesore, and at worst, potentially dangerous due to the way it is lying around collapsed in some cases close to, or on, the paths. All that money spent on creating the pathway by the water, and Riverside Quay, and to then just leave metal fencing lying around all over the place like it is a construction site. Who would have guessed it's Stirling council...

Causewayhead Road, Stirling: Cycle Lane faults, 2nd March
Causewayhead Road, Stirling: Cycle Lane faults. There are three problems with the new Causewayhead Road cycle lane. 1. The left-to-right slope (crossfall) on the cycle lane looks to be much more that the 2.5% stipulated Transport Scotland's "Cycling by Design" 2021. This could lead to cyclists sliding sideways in frosty weather. 2. The grates are too small for the volume of water draining off the two-way cycle lane and pavement. Already they are filling with debris. 3. The grates are in the wrong position, i.e. not at the lowest points. This means that there are puddles of water collecting on the cycle lane and path between the grates.
