FIXMYSTREET IN EX5 2AE
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of EX5 2AE:
Worrying road noise from traffic on M5 over this bridge junction 30, 21st April
When you wait at traffic lights underneath the M5 junction 30 heading towards Sandy Park and there is significant traffic on the M5 above there is a lot of noise - a clattery noise as traffic drives over something loose or uneven- maybe a man hole (surely not on a motorway?). (50.7118824, -3.4640557)Or perhaps there is a join in the bridge here. Anyway it’s been like this a long time but I’ve been reading a book on civil engineering accidents and was prompted to ask you to go and listen during rush hour when you’re nearby. The noise must be made by force and repetitive force can damage things I suppose.

Pothole in centre of sliproad, 25th February
As you exit on the slipway of Jct 29 of the M5, to go east on the A30, in the middle of the road I hit a pothole. It was difficult to assess, but felt significant. Could potentially cause vehicle damage. In heavy icy conditions would probably create a danger to lose control.

White lines unclear, as many drivers are confused where to position their cars as they leave the slip road and enter the roundabout, 31st October
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am writing to report an everyday confusion that I see for the past year as I commute from Taunton to Exeter.
As you exit M5 on Southbound side and about to enter the Sandygate Roundabout (in order to head to either the 2nd, 3rd or 4th exit, drivers on the 4th lane on the slip road (right-hand lane) struggle to position their cars and always get into the 3rd lane as they leave the slip road and enter the roundabout.
This happens during summer even when it's still bright outside. It could possibly due to the white lines overlapping each other. It is now worse as it gets dark early and starts to rain more.

Two large gaps in the tree line of southbound approach to J29, 5th September
On the approach to junction 29 there are two large gaps in the tree line. In recent years a new housing development has been built on the East Devon side of the motorway and there is no noise management in place at these spots. The noise from the motorway is significant and carries over the development with no interruption. Quality of life for all the new residents in Tithebarn would be significantly improved if tree planting is used to fill both these gaps and reduce the noise levels.

Overgrown vegetation obstructing cycle path, 6th June
The vegetation along the side of the road/pavement is making it very narrow for cyclists to get past the traffic light column. The whole length of pavement from the lay-by down the A30 to where Devon County Council takes responsibility of the road needs to be cut back, but also scraped back on the pavement to reveal the true width of the pavement again due to debris and growth.
