Permanently parking in designated "turning area", 30th April
We live in a small cul-de-sac (Coles Court, Ashreigney). There are only the furthest 5 houses that are affected. It's in the deeds to all our homes, that the road is "adopted" and that the "turning area" is not to be parked in. We have ALL had to use the turning area on occasions (removal vans, workmen, visitors, doctors, couriers, deliveries, RAC etc) but not for permanent parking as it makes it very difficult to manoeuvre in the evening and at weekends when everyone is home. We all have visitors and mostly have grown up children at home who drive too. We all used to juggle, but manage ok. However the owner of the silver MPV (also owns the red car, the blue car, a green MG and now has another red car with L plates on for their son) and they only have driveway for two plus garage. So they rudely (arrogantly!) use the "turning area" as their own private parking - to the extent of standing out there blocking the space whilst they shuffle cars around to maintain the space! The owner of the black car shown parked in the "turning area" went round showing people her copy of the deeds saying NOT to park there, until her friend (the owner of the silver MPV) bought the extra vehicles, and suddenly it was ok for them to park there ...... as you can see she now even parks in it (even though she has a driveway big enough for four vehicles and only owns two!) It's getting ridiculous (and quite frankly pathetically childish!). There is public on-street parking 50 yards away, a carpark in the village centre 100 yards away and no reason for this over crowding. One lovely neighbour (to the left of the turning area) has already paid to professionally widen their driveway to accommodate their own vehicles. We are now having to sacrifice our front lawn and side/rear garden (and spend over £5,000) as we have to knock down our walls & fences etc to widen our driveway as we only currently only have parking for two vehicles and have to squish those up to walk to the front door. We're being forced to do this because we can't park on the road in front of our own property due to the "turning area" being permanently in use, as it leaves the area too narrow! I'm disabled - as is the owner of the third vehicle who is coming to live here soon, and our daughter returns home from duty normally around 23.00hrs (village spaces full) and is often called out during the night so needs her car here on her own driveway not at the far end of an unlit village!! If the people were stopped from parking in the turning bay and either park in the village - or widen their own driveway, then we wouldn't have this trouble. We also would be able to have deliveriy drivers, binmen, ambulance etc able to turn around and drive safely out instead of reversing and endangering the children who live in the cul de sac. Please can something be done to stop this. It is afterall in their legally binding deeds!!! Can we please have a sign saying "No Parking. Turning Only" or something? Thank you.

Obstructive and dangerous parking, 15th September
Continued obstructive parking on public highway by residents and visitors to beechlea houses opposite the private drive of three dwellings, high trees, east allers and allendale, proving difficult and sometimes immpossible access. also forcing traffic onto the wrong side of the road- great potential for accident when exiting the drive as cannot see oncoming traffic, sometimes even double parking so large vehicles using public highway cannot get through

Dangerous road surface, 1st August
The road surface in Riddlecombe is a disgrace. Devon Highways appear to have failed to recognise that local residents/pedestrians have to use the road as there are no pavements. The majority of recent repairs have failed and the surfaces are pitted, potholed and frankly a high risk trip hazard for pedestrians. Please fix where the houses and chapel are located. Repair and resurfacing is long overdue.

Road surface needs repair, 27th January
The road surface through Riddlecombe is now very dangerous. It is riddled with potholes, blocked drains and failed repairs. The previous patchwork repairs failed within weeks. There are no pavements, residents have to walk in the road. The danger to the many elderly residents and children is obvious. Please can the whole of the highway be properly resurfaced.

Old bath dumped, 16th August
Unfortunately and old bath has been left on the verge of New Road adjacent to the gateway for the allotments. I first thought it was to be used for water storage on the allotment. Unfortunately it has been there for months and should be removed.
