FIXMYSTREET IN EX14 1FW
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of EX14 1FW:
Confusing road closure, 15th April
Over a three day period this junction was controlled by temporary traffic lights, day two, lights still in place - but not working. Day three no lights and work vehicle parked across both cariageways. Driver aggressively said We had infringed a traffic regulation and we were at risk of three points on our licence. In the few minutes it took to turn round, another half dozen motorists had also been confused. I was told to retrace our route and to follow the tempoary diversion signs. This I did. They took me onto the A30 but no further signs. Having turned off for Ottery we eventually made our way home. Other motorists travelled as far as Sidmouth before they found a suitable route. In addition to being left in the lurch on the A30 there was no evidence of any works having taken place either as far as our home at Gittisham Hill Park, nor right up to the Hare and Hounds, so there appeared to be no reason why we should not have been allowed to travel the few hundred yards to our home, instead of being made late for an important finance meeting. Incudentally, the section of road from the Tesco roundabout to our home, still has two potholes travelling north 4 or 5 travelling south, a short section of collapsed bank, none of which have been repaired.

Road markings and hatched area nearly disappeared, 30th March
At this junction, there is a hatched area and arrows to guide drivers into the centre of the road to turn right safely. All the lines and hatching have nearly disappeared, and this is dangerous, as drivers can't see where they're supposed to position themselves in the road to turn.

Uneven surface, 10th July
Successive carriageway repairs linked to utility works have left a surface which dips and bumps, causing a speed-hump style effect near to the kerb. Lorries passing over this point (which they do a lot!) make an unbearable noise and cause nearby houses to shake as the lorries' trailers and loads are jolted around.
The latest repairs were carried out earlier this year and it is in the last couple of weeks that the issue has become apparent, due I should imagine to some movement in the road surface.

I reported a recessed utility cover yesterday which is causing very loud noises when lorries, in particular, drive over. I sent a photo but didn't specify exactly the position. It is almost opposite Hale Lane, Axminster bound., 9th June
I first reported this last year and was told if the company responsible didn't repair it, the council would and then bill the company. I would like an update. The noise is defeaning.

Recessed utility cover, 8th June
It is not a pothole it is a utility cover which is recessed and creates a defeaning noise when the heavy lorries drive over. I reported this last year but have had no information as to a repair. I was told if the company responsible did not repair it, the Highways would repair and forward cost to the company responsible.

The service cover within the road is damage (I think - too dangerous to go and check), 18th April
The service cover / manhole cover (or whatever it is called) within the road is broken. Each time a vehicle drives over it a clinking noise is made. I think the cover has broken (too dangerous to go check or take pic of) - only a matter of time until this cover causes an accident on a busy road into Honiton
