Lime and chalk tipped though village main street, 24th May
Yesterday a farming contractor spilt a large quantity of what we think is a field dressing of lime and chalk along the main street of Whitford (coming down the hill from Colyford and along towards Musbury. If it is lime it is alkali and could damage cars and gardens apart from the potentially harmful fine dust it is creating all over the houses and cars which front on to the road, and anyone walking through the village has to breathe it in. There is a cloud every time a car goes along the street. If it rained we are concerned about pollution into the water courses, and the nearby river. .
We are not sure what this is, but it is some sort of chemical spill all through our village and ask that someone should come quickly and see what is happening and get it removed as soon as possible.

Dangerous situation getting worse by the day! , 6th December
Temporary repairs have been made to the edging round this manhole twice this year, but recent rains and regular traffic have opened up the old potholes, and made them worse than ever. It requires URGENT ATTENTION as many stones have come loose with obvious implications, but the metal edge of the manhole is completely exposed and potentially dangerous, as the hole by the side is quite deep. Please - no more temporary repairs, that is just false economy.
