FIXMYSTREET IN EH42 1TA
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of EH42 1TA:
Awful road conditions, 22nd April
I reported this section of road previously and commented specifically that just patching a pothole was not adequate.
This road section fundamentally has poor draining from the fields above such that any run off goes either side of the road eroding it badly.
This section also has farm traffic, lorries and cars. Also tourist traffic up to pressmennan woods and lake.
The potholes patched today are a clear evidence of ignoring the previous comments and rely on a strategy of patching the road only . These potholes will quickly erode demonstrating the strategy is greatly lacking.
Please consider doing a proper survey and resurfacing of this road.

Dangerous road, 31st March
The first section past stenton school heading up stenton loan is in dreadful condition. With the mud and rain it’s created erosions either side of the road edge. There are obvious and hidden potholes creating a hazard for driving.
This morning I saw a car go into the ditch to the side and the back end swung out almost leading to an accident.
There is farm traffic, tourist traffic up to presmennan and plenty more up this road.
Also the inadequate drainage is probably the main reason why the road is eroding so badly so quickly after minor patching.

Potholes and road erosion, 31st December
Massive potholes, farm machinery and Lorrie’s travel up this road. The road edges are severely eroded and the drainage is poor. Combination of the two mean this road is in very poor condition.
Please bear in mind that this is also the main road up to pressmennan lake so there is a lot of traffic in this road. This entire section needs resurfacing with proper drainage put in place

Road flooding and inadequate dykes, 18th November
Longstanding problem always presents during periods of heavy rain. From the crest of the hill in stenton loan, the run off to the ditch is inadequate so it gets overwhelmed and the it just pours down the main road eroding the edge of the road. This gets past the school and goes down the hill To flood into the house there. In my opinion there needs to be a proper ditch dug along this section with a properly established run off. There need to be a ditch dug before the old school house through the field laterally so that this run off goes into the river.
At least there needs To be proper ditch dug to try and protect the road
