Easthouses road could benefit with some 30mph signage, 31st March

Sun, 31 Mar 2024 17:07:59 +0100
55.884987 -3.050306

When Easthouses Road was re-classified as a 30 zone, they removed the old 40 mph signs from the lamposts, but didn't replace them with 30's. Instead going for painted 30s on the road. As much as the painted 30 on the road should imply the speed limit is 30, often its ignored and the straight section of the road is used as a high-speed road (60+), especially by motorcyclists and those with modified vehicles speeding down the road to the junction at Lauder Road. As much as a 30 sign might not stop the speeders on this road, it gives them little excuse if they're ever caught exceeding the residential speed limits.

Working van obstructing visibility crossing, 6th March

Wed, 06 Mar 2024 11:34:38 +0000
55.866781 -3.036646

Somebody in my local area keeps parking a large working van just before a pedestrian crossing and road narrowing, that makes it really dangerous to cross the road because you can't see who's coming. It's been like that for years and you can even see it from google maps! I am not even sure people can leave working van parked like that...

Very narrow lanes, 24th February

Sat, 24 Feb 2024 11:26:45 +0000
55.888337 -3.048845

The new road markings since this junction has been resurfaced are likely to cause problems at busy times.. heading to Dalkeith the lanes are so narrow that it’s forcing traffic turning right to the A68 onto the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic.. the lane heading to Easthouses is huge & disproportionate for one lane of traffic.

Sharp-edged pothole likely to cause damage or injury, 19th January

Fri, 19 Jan 2024 20:11:19 +0000
55.88566 -3.080985

On the left-hand side of the road - as you drive towards Dalkeith - a pothole has appeared which has sharp edges and is very likely to cause damage to a car or injury to a cyclist. Because of its location - where there are regularly cars parked opposite which limit the amount of space people have to avoid it - it is very likely that a car or cyclist will hit it, causing damage and/or injury, if it is not fixed as a priority.
