Bridge drainage blocked, 23rd April
The pedestrian bridge crossing the A1m just north of Washington services drainage is blocked especially above the southbound carriageway. After rain the bridge footpath is awash (frozen in cold weather) and difficult/dangerous to use. The bridge is well used by people (especially women) working in the nearby trading estate. The bridge in general seems in poor condition but clearing the drains would help crossing the bridge safely. Please give consideration to improving things as time allows. Thanks in advance. Regards V.M.

Drainage issues caused by A1 roadworks causing issues with stones and flooding on Lamesley Road, 5th March
The ongoing roadworks to widen the A1 near the Low Eighton roundabout near Birtley is causing flooding and debris issues to Lamesley road. Water is being redirected as a result of the roadworks down a track that runs parallel to Lamesley road. This has cut a deep channel down the centre of the track and as a result whenever there is rain, water gushes down this track bringing with it a significant amount of debris and stones that are washed onto Lamesley Road. This makes Lamesley Road treacherous to drive down. This has been reported previously to a number of parties and we have been advised that this a national highways issue and you are resolving it. These issues have been ongoing since October and have still not been resolved. Please can you advise on action taken to date and the timeframe for this to be resolved and confirmation that the track will also have remedial works on it to restore it to how it was (as this is a popular walking route). Thank you.

A195(M) Washington - the evidence, 2nd March
I know this sign just say the A195 not anything about the A195(M) heres everything i found ave taken some pictures of the motorway spur running east of A1(M) J64 in Washington. An unusual piece of motorway - - Dual 2 and 3 lane with no hard shoulder - Abrupt End-of-Motorway heading east between junctions - No start of motorway sign heading west - Route confirmation markers call it the A195 despite being motorway at the time I call this road the A195(M) due to being the A195 and a motorway. What do you think? www.sabre-roads.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4723

LItter on embankment, 21st January
I have reported this stretch of road for probably 3.4 years now and nothing has been done. The same rubbish is there! Never cleared, nothing changes. There is no excuse as the motorway is often closed for the nearby roadworks. This is not recent litter, this is stuff there since pre-Covid lockdowns. I can't beleive the highways can be so negligent in their duty to keep the highways clear. Without any excuses - when is it being cleared?

Litter, 21st January
Most of this rubbish is coming out of the badly maintained industrial estate and the Moto services, but the bushes along here are gross!!!! I've never seen such a build up of litter. You'd be better to cut all of them down and just have a flat patch of grass you can litter pick. Under the bushes is thick, absolutely thick with waste it must be decades old. This is highways land and you are responsible.
