The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of DD8 5EU:
Unsafe Steading buildings awaiting development, hazards include fire risk, possible contamination and public safety, 15th August
The development at Over Ascreavie contains old farm steading buildings which have had their roof cladding removed, and dumped inside. There are also 2 large piles of timber within the steading.
The roof cladding may be of an age to contain asbestos and the piles of timber pose a significant fire hazard. According to neighbours the site was initial fenced off, however this seems to have now been abandoned. My concerns are:- The fire hazard to neighbouring property. The possibility of hazardous roofing material remaining on site. The lack of barriers to prevent children from entering the property which contains underground waterways and sumps. I have lived at this location since January and as nothing has changed within this period I therefor can only assume the owners either are not aware of the issues or do not intend to rectify the situation.
