I was through Carsphairn a couple of months ago and the road surface throughout the village was in a dreadful state. Some of it was deeply potholed, exposing road substrate, and then there are places the tarmac has been distorted upwards. A complete resurfacing job.

Mud on road, 2nd December
A long stretch of the A713 through several areas where there are workings alongside the road is covered with mud. So much so my trip from Kilmarnock to Castle Douglas in a newly-washed car made the car so dirty it was impossible to read the number plate.
