Illegal parking causing danger at entry/exit small housing development, 13th November
The Granary in Ryme Intrinseca is a complex of 8 small houses. There is one common entrance/exit that serves all properties. This entrance is just after a sharp bend in the road prohibiting a long view to the right upon exiting. To help with safety there is mirror on the opposite side of the road. Unfortunately, people keep parking vehicles opposite our entrance blocking the mirror. This also creates an additional hazard as the vehicles coming from the left have to swerve into the middle of the narrow road. This is also exacerbated by the fact that these vehicles have (only just within a few yards) exited a 40mph zone, and many are still doing that speed. People choose to park there because there is some erosion of the bank. The road was recently resurfaced this summer, and a solid white line painted along the edge of the highway. In the absence of a pedestrian pavement the HIghway Code is clear that no parking should occur along such a stretch. The road also narrows just outside of The Granary because the outermost property has a stone wall and balcony ingressing onto the highway. Plastic marker posts were in place to protect pedestrians, but the parking has caused vehicles to swerve and run over these. These haven't been replaced either. This problem has been going on for some years now, but in recent months has escalated. A simple solution would be to instate some highway marker posts with reflectors on both sides of this short section of highway.

Builders blocking public road, 10th February
Builders working on private land are continually blocking the public road and thereby blocking access to the community wood 'Vecklands Wood'. Rather than politely moving their vehicle as soon as they see they have blocked a car in and people are waiting for them to move, they make us wait until they have finished their job.
Vecklands is a community woodland for all to access. Many people use this wood to walk their dogs. It is unreasonable that this precious resource should be restricted for the whole village because of one person having an extension to their house built.
