There is a set of traffic lights installed at the top of the hill going toward Bridport. They were installed yesterday afternoon and are causing considerable traffic congestion but there is no road works being undertaken and no sign of any work! Why were the lights installed on the main road through the southwest of the country and no actually road work being done! In the past, road works have been done in the night to limit congestion especially in Chideock! It’s half term as well in Dorset so we have added congestion! Have you ever tried going through country lanes with everyone else! You really need to be making people aware of these traffic lights before hand! There was no signs to let residents or anyone else know about upcoming road works!

Large pothole in centre of left lane, 10th January
The recent heavy rain and now frosts have created a new porthole on the down hill stretch from Quarr Lane towards the Bridport turning, about 100 yards or so from the old London Inn (building with scaffolding). It's on the left hand downhill side of the road, dead in the middle so a total hazard for cyclists and motorbikes. Needs urgent attention.

The gutter, on the corner, as it turns towards 1-7 Perryhays, is blocked, full of leaves and debris. This area is prone to flooding from water than comes down off North Allington so it is important that it is cleared.

Storm drainage steal gridle damage, 14th December
After houses in Chideock on A35, on east bound towards Chideock to Bridport, single storm drainage steel griddle is damaged, slightly sunk into the road. You can't stop and have a look, far too dangerous place, but it appears 5 to 10 cm deep, it could be dangerous, definitely damage the car.

The road drainage on the south side can't cope. NEEDS SWEEPING before next rainfall, but the road camber also needs adjustment when next surfaced. This is a repeat problem but acute with recent heavy rain and autumn debris uncleared

Drin subsiding and causing noise and vibration, 16th September
These drains have been like this for some time and getting worse. The traffic does not obey traffic speed limit of 30 mph which is dangerous and not helping. As there is more heavy traffic using this road it is causing vibration through our property, due to the fact large vehicles bouncing when going over this section of road especially at night causing disturbing noise. We are very concerned as the new build to Vearse Farm Land by Factory Lea , as they say supplies via heavy transport using the B3162 as entry to be via existing dirt track road apposite our property, as we suffer heavy dust clouds drifting across the road to properties in West Mead, this is also to worsen, We would ask if consideration be given to minimum to reduce speed limit to 20mph due to traffic use and Heavy Lorry increase. Also there are a number of pedestrian gates which are used, to the path on this road, where I have nearly been hit by speeding lorries. Consider speed camera. Consider rebuild and strengthening of the drain covers and road structure, before total road collapses. Car seems to been abandoned, 15th August
The tyres are flat & looks as if the front suspension has broken. Car has not moved by approx 3 months. Parking is very limited since double yellow lines have been painted (without notice!)

The A35 at Chideock will have traffic restrictions for the next six months sat navs will send vehicles along the narrow Eype Down Road stopping residents from leaving their properties, 30th June
When the A35 is slow or closed sat navs have started sending vehicles along Eype Down Road which is only single track with very few passing places and many blind bends. Symondsbury Parish Council have applied to make it partially one way (see map) You are planning to work on the A35 at Chideock throughout the summer so Eype down Road will become gridlocked with residents unable to get out of their properties. Could either the partial one way system requested be implemented as a temporary measure or a sign put at the Eype end saying access to property only not the A35 please. Overnight Road Closure?, 21st June
Please respond to the customer. "A35 Road Closure Axminster to Bridport. We are travelling to Highlands End holiday park on Friday and have been advised that the A35 is closed overnight from 8pm.
