FIXMYSTREET IN DT1 3RE
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of DT1 3RE:
Tactile paving ineffective, 23rd April
Tactile paving throughout Poundbury seems to have been fitted with aesthetics taking precedence over usefulness. Although I am not certain about recommended installation, the diagonal cuts and placement and lack of right angles seem to risk visually impaired people walking into the road at a dangerous angle. Although I have selected this location, this seems to be the issue throughout Poundbury, especially in these "square junctions", and this is a good example, also easily seen in Google street view and feel it is worth checking.

Streetlight crashed into 2 years ago - never replaced. +2 lights not working, 9th October
Two years ago this streetlight was crashed into, somehow nothing has ever been done about it (see photos, it’s quite noticeable)
I reported this early this year: reference 3041
It has been left that long that Google Maps street view has passed through twice in 2 years; showing the damage and showing it’s not been sorted… which by any sense is a ridiculous response time, particularly as someone should be inspecting the road and lights for defects.
Further to this, two other columns next to each other don’t work on the other side of the roundabout and haven’t for a few months… Numbers 20B and 21B.
Please see photos attached.
Kind regards

Report on FixMyStreet
On the Bridport Road, close to the Mc.Donald’s restaurant, people very often Park their cars on the road while a corner is nearby. Therefore the passage but also the visibility of cars driving towards Martinstown is often hindered. Double yellow stripes until the corner in order to prevent parking could avoid this very dangerous situation experienced by many inhabitants of Martinstown., 17th September
See above.

Trees overhanging boundaries of private business, 12th July
I'm the Business Manager of the Dorchester branch of McDonalds (Lewco Holdings LTD). As you can see from the photos, the trees located in the land to the east of our property overhang across the boundary.
The concern I have regards the high potential of falling branches causing damage to the vehicles of both staff and customers. The relative isolation of the store means that it is usually quite windy in the area which increase the risk of falling branches.
The carpark does have CCTV which will be able to identify any potential damage caused, but ideally I'd like to prevent its occurrence in the first place. I'm requesting that the owners of this land undertake works to cut back the vegetation overgrowth.
I logged this on FixMyStreet earlier, however it directed it to the Dorset Council. They have told me this land is managed by National Highways
