Very deep hole at side of Tarmac, 18th November
This has been reported by telephone twice to the Highways dept of North Dorset Council and no action has been taken. The hole is so deep the front of my car was resting on the Tarmac and I had to be towed out backwards. This road was resurfaced earlier this year but the hole has been made by heavy vehicles beyond the Tarmac. This is potentially very dangerous. It is currently filled with leaves so not obvious and is on a narrow part of the road between passing places.

Bank and ditch, 2nd September
The lane widens here slightly, and so the heavy traffic from the school has totally destroyed the bank and ditch which were here. Can we have them put back? before they become road which would be horrible.

Road completely blocked by traffic from school., 22nd November
Dear sir/madam,
The traffic down Old Mill Lane, Marnhull, from St Marys Primary School, has long been a problem: the school has been here for a long time. Over the last couple of years, however, as the school has grown larger and more and more children are driven in from the surrounding towns, the traffic problem is now acute.
Essentially the lane, which is a cul de sac, becomes completely blocked twice a day, by either one of the huge buses that then load children, or parents who wait, or the force of traffic coming the other way. The road is only wide enough for one car, so it effectively makes residents prisoners in (or out) of their own homes twice a day for around 30 mins in term time.
On Friday 21st Nov at approx 3.15pm, myself and a delivery man had to wait for 20 minutes for the bus to load children, before it drove off and we could get on with our jobs or into our homes. We were disdainfully waved into the school car park to wait as if we had no right to pass until told to.
Apart from the obvious rather callous blocking of the road, it is a safety liability as we have very elderly people living beyond the school, one of whom is over 90 years of age and had to have an ambulance called for him a fortnight or so ago. If an ambulance was blocked for 20 minutes in an emergency the result could be catastrophic.
It strikes me that the school is now so large that the site it is built on, and the surrounding infrastructure, simply cannot withstand the sheer weight and ferocity of traffic that it produces. The entire lane is having its charm and character destroyed as a consequence. On an environmental note; as I'm sure the parents of the children coming to this school love it's secluded and rural nature; the levels of pollution, congestion, and the carbon footprint produced from this one small school is completely unsustainable and should have no future in the modern energy conscious world we now inhabit. Some help would be greatly appreciated.
The photo is from 1998 to give you an idea of how long this has been occurring.
