Significant overgrowth of vegetation, 2nd June

Fri, 02 Jun 2023 12:15:06 +0100
53.48915 -0.863783

There is a 4 foot overgrowth of vegetation along brethergate at the point noted. This has been reported on several occasions and declined to be treated by the NLCouncil, there is not enough room as you can clearly see on the images for an adult to walk along the path, let alone a puschair or adult with child. This is the only footpath along that length of road as the other side is housing with no path. This is forcing people to be on the road on the brow of a hill where cars coming cannot be seen. Someone will be injured if this is not sorted. This has been a worsening problem for the last 6 weeks and nobody has attended to it despite multiple reports by myself, partner and other members of the village.

Very loose metal drain cover in the road - potential traffic and pedestrian hazard, 19th July

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 19:34:07 +0100
53.490819 -0.843514

A metal drain cover in the road has worked loose on Greenhill Road, Haxey. It appears that there are supposed to be two bolts securing it in place, but one is missing and the other is holding on by its last thread and looks ready to fall out. It is in the perfect spot in the road for every vehicle to drive over it, and when they do it rocks on its diagonal corners with both the front and back wheel on the vehicle. We get a broad range of vehicles, cars, trucks, tractors on this road, and their is usually parked cars on the other side so it is effectively a one lane road with traffic going in both directions, so it is taking a hammering. This is obviously making a lot of noise and can be heard indoors over 50 metres away - heavens knows what it is like for the poor people whose house it is immediately next to. More seriously though, once the other bolt comes out I am concerned that a vehicle will dislodge it completely and seriously damage the underside of vehicle, or it could hit a pedestrian, parked car or house, or if those things don't happen it will leave a hole in the road that the next vehicle's wheel will plunge into. This is something I first noticed two weeks ago as a slight noise while outdoors, but it has become very pronounced in the past couple of days which has led me to investigate and now report it. Thanks.
