Large turnips smashing into passing cars from loading of 40ft Lorries on the road, 22nd March
Large turnips are falling from the top of 40ft lorries as the farmer is loading them. My car has been hit twice in 2 days while passing, today's nearly going through the windscreen where my wife was seated.
There is ample space to load safely at the field entrance but neither the lorry driver nor the farmer loading were the slightest bit interested in the danger they are causing to passing motorists and refused to move.
The lorries are parked just over the crest of a hill often with 2 waiting while a 3rd is being loaded. It's very dangerous and someone could easily get hurt if a turnip (some the size of cabbage) go through the windscreen. Were we lucky it was just the car.
