Northbound carriageway. Outside lane. Opposite ish to the Happy Eater starbucks building. Close to a slip road. Enormous holes that a small car could probably fit in. Danger to life given the requirement to swerve into another lane to avoid it, or once you've bounced throught them and broken your car.

Massive pothole, 1st April
Massive pothole southbound in overtaking lane about 1/2 mile after end of 50mph section. Very dangerous

Pothole, 10th March
Huge pot hole on outside lane to the right hand side of lane, going south bound between Elkesley and Markham moor service station. Unable to get picture of pot hole due to location may possibly have dash cam proof once home to view footage). The severity of this pot hole could have resulted in a catastrophic accident resulting in serious injury or even death.
Hit huge deep pot hole and immediately knew we had a problem. The car computer flagged a problem and the psi on front driver side could be seen decreasing rapidly. We manage to just make it to Markham Moor service station and park up outside the shell garage at precisely 13.35 on 08.03.2024.
From here we had to ring round to find a mobile tree service but after several phone calls were unable to find any with the specif tyre needed in the area. Break down recovery had to be called who had to take us to our holiday destination an hour away as home was a further 2hours away. We are currently still on holiday without use of vehicle untill Monday 11.03.2024 when a garage can have specif tyre in stock . Breakdown recovery will have to transport vehicle to garage. We are hopefull alloy is not damaged but tyre has side wall tear which means can not be repaired.
Original trye 4months old (have proof of purchase £230) New trye replacement costing £149 as unable to get desired trye( have proof of purchase)

Street cleaning required ASAP, 11th February
Loads of Litter on slip road onto A1 in grass this keeps on getting worse and this when people see it they think I’ll throw more. Please this needs cleaning.

Street cleaning in hedges on A1 slip Northbound A1 Markham moor, 26th December
Street cleaning is required just as you go down the slip road on northbound A1 Markham moor roundabout as you go past the KFC there is loads of rubbish in hedges and it’s disgusting and need to be clean ASAP. Really bad for the environment.

Litter going from Markham Moor to Newark south and north bound, 22nd March
This litter has been all the way along the A1 since well before Christmas. It's grotesque and makes our area look scruffy. Why has it not been cleaned up. There is plastic ,glass, a mattress, a big empty pipe reel, paper alsorts.

Loads of rubbish on slip road to A1, 2nd March
There is loads of rubbish on the slip road from the Markham moor roundabout to the north slip road entry near KFC.
This is disgusting and something needs to be done.
There is also loads of rubbish when you get off the A1 just past the Starbucks on the southbound side. There needs to be stop littering signs and just needs cleaning.

Horrendous amount of roadside litter, 16th February
This is a major ecological disaster all the way along the A1, both north and southbound. It's heartbreaking to see so much rubbish on the verges. It's difficult to see how this awful mess could ever be cleaned up. There simply isn't any deterrent for selfish drivers who seem to think it's OK to throw litter from vehicles. Where are the littercams?

The road surface on the approach road to the A1 north Markham Moor roundabout is absolutely dreadful, 22nd January
The condituon of the road surface on the B1164 approach road to the A1 north roundabout is full of potholes and is very uneven. No maintenance has been carried out to this section of the road and it has been like this for a very long time. It is now increasingly getting worse with the current bad weather.
