FIXMYSTREET IN DN21 3TE
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of DN21 3TE:
Open Space Astley Crescent, 24th April
A house nearby is using the open space (which is for all residents old and young) as an extension of their garden. There are now permanent goal posts on their, often other items such as balls, bokes, clothing. there is one large goal post and a smaller one on the other side of the grassed area. Whilst understanding Children need to play and be outside, there are footballs being kicked onto the road, other peoples properties and vehicles. However there is almost a declaration of 'ownership' by the house who have constructed these goal posts, which means others can't use the space should they wish to. It other young people wanted to play games there, can they use the goal posts, or move them if they didn't wat to play football which then leads to the question of liability as to who is liable should there be an accident and these posts blow over or break and cause damage or personal injury.

From Corner of Gravel Pit Messingham Road to 3 Gravel Pit Road, 4th March
The available footpath is severely restricted by a hedge which grows out and over the footpath. It makes it difficult for pedestrians especially Pushchairs and wheelchairs as the hedge is at head/face level.. This hedge is from the property 22 Messingham Road and the property & garden is at a higher level than the footpath. The issue is compounded further up outside 1 gravel pit road where the hedge there has grown across the footpath and as a result the footpath is very narrow trying to turn the corner, again especially when trying to navigate a wheelchair or pushchair round.

A large branch has broken off a tree about 3 weeks ago, it is laying across the grass verge and the footpath. The tree has fallen from the overgrown trees of a neighbouring property. I have waited for a few weeks before reporting it to see if it was removed.
