Trees, 10th June
I took a walk down Crowcroft Lane in Pollington this morning and it looks like a madman has been let loose with a chain saw. Large branches have been ripped from the trees and left strewn across the road and there are sharp thorns scattered all over. It will be difficult for cars to get by and nigh on impossible for cyclists to avoid the obstacles which is a unfortunate seeing as this is part of a major cycle route. The enclosed photo doesn't properly demonstrate the damage but it is pure vandalism. I understand that a local farmer is responsible but whether he had authorisation or not I don't no. The hedgerows and trees need to be kept in some sort of order but this should be done in sympathy with the nesting birds and wildlife. And the mess needs to be removed so as not to pose a danger to users of the road. This, I believe, should be the responsibility of ERC and the work carried out by an accredited workforce.

Potholes and mud, 2nd March
Crow Croft Lane is a mess! The edges of the road are pot-holed and breaking up. The road is always muddy, partly from farm traffic, mainly because the road is single lane, and when 2 vehicles meet, they are both driven over the verges. The road is never swept. It needs kerb stones and passing places.

Complaint of poor street lighting, 1st March
Lady at No. 6 Waterway Garth, Pollington, reports poor street lighting. I have looked at lamp post No.1 on Waterway Garth, and note that the lens is dirty. Perhaps exchanging the head of the lamp for a more up to date version would give more light.
Thank you in Anticipation
Ken Wilson
