The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of DE74 2FD:

I use this junction regularly and there are so many times where people get the wrong lane - they're in the A50 lanes and then cut straight across to the M1 lane when the lights change to green. I have had so many near misses (I'm in the M1 lane about to come off for the hotel road), having to either swerve or slam on the brakes. It's an accident waiting to happen., 26th April

52.843714 -1.297367

Lane markings are missing. Potholes between the lanes. This happens so often that I think it's more to do with the non-intuitive road layout. Sign posts need to be clearer (A50 ONLY) or lower?

Closing A42 slip road but no signage on A453 to warn drivers, 20th March

Wed, 20 Mar 2024 14:55:42 +0000
52.847601 -1.287409

Twice now I have dropped onto the M1 off the A453 from Nottingham in order to get onto the M42 only to find I can't as the slip road has been closed for works. Why National Highways are not displaying this fact on the electronic sign on the A453 I do not know - thereby allowing drivers to take an alternative route.....like crossing the island over the M1 and continuing to follow the A453 to join the A42 further on. Instead, all traffic then has to drive miles out of your way down to Loughborough J23 M1 to then double back along the A512.

Faded lines will cause major accident, 15th March

Fri, 15 Mar 2024 00:08:04 +0000
52.844891 -1.294618

From coming off the m1 southbound and joining the round about the lines are so faded people don’t know where to be on the road. I drive this route every day and there has been multiple occasions Lorries can’t tell where to be on the road and end up bullying their way over the road - it’s been a close call to many times. Only this morning a car didn’t find the correct lane and as they were entering the m1 southbound they cut right across the hatched lines and pushed into my lane at the last minute. Please re-paint these lines asap!

Vehicles parked stopping views on crossing, 9th February

Fri, 09 Feb 2024 20:58:35 +0000
52.838615 -1.286717

These large construction vehicles have been parked for more than 24 hours and don’t seem to be linked to any ongoing construction work. They are parked on double yellow lines and right next to a dropped curb crossing. They stop all view of the road to be able to cross safely. It is a residential street with many school children who walk home and can’t safely cross the road.

Massive Pothole 2ft x 1ft, 8th February

Thu, 08 Feb 2024 12:22:07 +0000
52.835983 -1.291529

This is a bus route, the whole road needs renewing (not just chucking some loose stones down on top of wet tar like they normally do). However, this pothole has formed recently and is getting bigger by the day. This is a bus route as you know, also cars and motorbikes use it to illegally go through the bus gate at the top of the road. The water board did not fix it when we had a water leak recently, I think they thought as the leak was on the other side of the road, that it was nothing to do with them. Would someone please sort this out urgently before it causes damage and/or an accident?
