FIXMYSTREET IN DE22 3PJ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of DE22 3PJ:
Potholes and road condition, 28th April
The outside lane of the northbound A38, between Kingsway Island and Markeaton Island, is in a dire state. Potholes and significant surface breakup have plagued this stretch for several months. In fact, the condition has deteriorated to the point where I’ve seen bombed aircraft runways in better shape.
Despite numerous reports to National Highways, no action has been taken so far. Vehicles now have to swerve at high speeds to avoid the problem sections. The road sections are so bad that they’re even triggering the collision sensors on my dashcam. If conditions worsen, it wouldn’t be surprising if they set off an airbag!
This situation urgently requires attention and repair. Let’s hope that authorities address it promptly.

Road surface failed, 25th April
The road surface in many place along the A38 from Kingsway to markeaton island has broken apart, it is deep 2-3” in places and very amazing to drive over. Cars are consistently moving over to the outside lane to miss the damage. This has been like for for about a year now and is getting worse week by week.

Surface broken down in multiple places between, 25th April
Multiple places from Kingsway island to university turn on A38 north bound, road surface has broken down, very rough and deep in places. It is now limiting traffic along this busy A road and has effectively reduced this from 2 to 1 lane across this section as people try to dodge the damage, people weaving in and out to quickly avoid the damage. The damage has been here now since last year and is getting worse daily. The uneven road temporary signs that have gone up don’t give a true reflection of how bad the road is in this area.

The road surface from Grand Canyon roundabout to Markeaton roundabout in Lane 2 at various locations is dangerous., 22nd April
Your website says this has been reported several times by many others. I would ask your Route Manager to actually get out of the office and look at it themselves and not rely upon an Inspector who obviously thinks the intervention level is not met and believes the erection of a uneven road surface sign is ok

We cant park our cars on our street and when we come back from shopping or come back from work we struggle to find parking. Car repair garage at the bottom of Crewe Street called Jd Motors and he parks all his cars that need repairing and does not move them for a few weeks and also repairing the the cars outside on the street and also he blocks the pavement into his garage.
When a recovery trucks come the street gets blocked and impossible to move.

Constant fly-tipping, 9th April
In this area there is constant flytipping. Everytime the housing association clears the rubbish more appears a week or two later, literally overnight, as we never see who is doing it. It looks like it may be a landlord as there are always mattresses and household waste. As neighbours we are fed up of our street being treated so disrespectfully.

3 fridge freezers dumped on pavement at Baker Metals for over a week, 8th April
These have been here for over a week now and the scrapyard obviously has no intention of taking them in which is understandable as they arent geared up for that type of recycling.
Baker Metals should be told to put a clear sign stating the items they will not accept to deter dumping of things they cant recycle and just get left cluttering the pavement like this.
Maybe a leaflet drop in the California area to tell people whete and how they can dispose of items?? Get extra bins etc. Simple stuff.
