Litter from M42 nr Birmingham airport to M1, 9th March
Both sides of the carriageway on the M42 and A42 are covered in litter. It is absolutely disgusting and I would suggest that this has built up over time with no attempts to clear it since it was reported in January.

Litter M42 and A42, 16th January
Both sides of the carriageway on the M42 and A42 are covered in litter. It is absolutely disgusting and feels like you are driving through a rubbish tip! Meeting visitors from abroad at Birmingham Airport to drive them to Nottingham was embarrassing.

Litter on and around slip roads, 14th January
Lots of discard litter blowing across the slip roads. Hedgerows and verges are full of cans, bottles, plastic bags, crisp packaging, takeaway containers. Also dumped nappies amongst other rubbish in the main lay-bys. Please can you deal with it? Thanks

Warning sign hit, 3rd January
On the southbound M42, I think between junction 11 and 10, there is a triangular hazard sign that is leaning over towards the traffic flow. This makes it difficult to read and may potentially be much more dangerous should a vehicle collide with it.

2/3 column lights not working, 31st December
Street Lights on slip road coming off M42 not working, Leicestershire County Council say these are highways responsibility and not LCC.
Been several months now, possibly a year or more.

The A42 north bound is completely full of litter, 29th December
The A42 north bound (heading towards Jct 13) is absolutely full of litter & debris from previous collisions, and blown out tyres. It’s in an appalling state.

Washing machine drum in ditch, 18th December
Someone appears to have dumped a washing machine drum and what looks like related rubbish in the ditch by the side of the road, about half way between the last bungalow on the school side, and the Nixons haulage yard. Been there for a few weeks now.

Signs from M1 onwards, 27th August
Reporting Junction 11 to 10 closed which after taking an additional 15 minute satnav diversion didn't even seem to be the case as cars were firstly still staying on the motorway at Junction 11 and also still being on the motorway when rejoining at Junction 10.

I regularly travel on the A42/M42 south. Almost every time there is overhead signage at J11 indicating Queue Ahead 60mph then 40mph. Then END. There is NEVER a queue ahead and NO NEED for the signage. It’s a huge safety issue. Yesterday the sign said M42 closed J10 to J9. Also incorrect!! It reopened 36 hours earlier. Please sort this out.
