Ongoing accumulation of debris on verges, 4th March

Fri, 04 Mar 2022 14:35:55 +0000
54.596534 -1.542364

Sirs, I would like to inform you, in writing, of the ongoing accumulation of litter and rubbish along the verges of the A1 and extending into nearby fields which appears to have come from the John Wade tip at Newton Aycliffe. Whilst this is a terrible eyesore for anybody travelling past Darlington on the A1, (certainly not a good impression!) it also poses a danger to wildlife and livestock in nearby fields as well as passing motorists should a plastic sheet wrap over a vehicle. Travelling this route on a daily basis to work I have noted this issue is not being addressed and still ongoing. I look forward to your response. Drain cover has become a hazard on the ramp to Argos goods in shutter. We have reported it to our maintenance company to be told it’s a council issue. There is a deep groove where the concrete is wearing away and it is a health and safety risk when receiving our delivery. This has been an issue for around 6 months, the drain cover was replaced when it was cracked by a pallet last year but it continues to be a problem.
