No Mow May, 27th April
Not sure if this is posted to the correct Council dept. As Coventry has declared Climate Emergency AND is short of cash, why cant the grass verges be encouraged to support more wildlife insects etc by NOT MOWING PLACES ANYWHERE UNTIL June. The Council could spend the first years costs of mowing labour on sowing wild flowers into those spaces for future years. This has to be a win win situation. Nature is supported and the Council save resources.
Please advise plans for this year and next year

Abandonned Uber Taxi, 25th April

Discard road work signage, 15th April
There is presently junction reconstruction at the nearby London Road and Abbey Road, CV3, which is controlled by temporary traffic lights. On Friday 12 April, one assumes, that someone from these road works barriers the Pedestrian crossing. This was I assume, to limit the road traffic congestion at the approaches to the temporary traffic lights nearby? At the end if work on Friday the pedestrian crossing barriers were not removed and over the weekend those who wished to use the crossing broke down the barriers. It is now Monday and work at the reconstruction is back in full flow, but the barrier debris is still in place. A casual enquiry at the construction site was met with a Scooby Do response. I did inform Highways Coventry City Council thru their portal, as yet no response.

Theft of bollards to field, 8th April
Males turned up in a van yesterday and removed the bollards to the field on Langbank Avenue. They put the bollards into their van. No VRM details. This has been a pattern of what happens before travellers move on and set up an illegal encampment - they sent people ahead to remove obstructions.

Massive hole developing in outside lane of A46 between Starbucks and TollBar Island.

Extremely bad mowing of green 8/5/23, 24th March
I want the Council to a) stick to its website guidelines that grassed areas where daffodils and crocus are planted will not be mown till late June/July, b) adopt a general policy of NO MOW MAY, as directed by the charity PLANTLIFE, for the benefit of wild flowers and insects AND SAVE WAGES OF THOSE EMPLOYED DESTROYING NATURE THIS WAY and re-assign those folk to other “maintenance tasks”
When mowing recommences the community expect a proper job be done not like that of 8/5/23 ie last year .. photos attached.
A great deal of effort has been spent in getting Copsewood Terrace grassed areas to look better in the spring and lift peoples spirits with the planting of daffodils at our cost. Premature cropping of the foliage damages the next years flowers . Please stick to your published mowing rules.
