FIXMYSTREET IN CH64 1SW
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of CH64 1SW:
Mobile dot matrix sign causing congestion/ distraction, 12th March
Good morning,
There is mobile dot matrix sign positioned just before J5 southbound M53 as three lanes merge into two. The sign has been positioned in the past week and is a long distance away from the carriageway. The text is small and there is a large amount of detail describing the roadworks due to take place over 20+ weeks on the M53. The positioning of this sign and the small text is causing traffic to slow significantly at the point of the lane merger, which is causing a large amount of unnecessary and potentially dangerous congestion through distraction especially at rush hour. Please could this sign be moved or a much larger sign be installed?
Many thanks.

Major flood across carriageway, 2nd November
As you come off junction 5 onto m53 northbound there is such a flood that there's a wall of water thrown up onto windscreen. It's extremely dangerous especially in the dark as you can't see anything and you just pray you don't have a crash !

Overgrowing Bushes, 24th May
Down a significant stretch of Hooton Road, up to Oaklands Office Park, there is a lot of overgrowth which is impacting the pedestrian walkway. As the road has a 40mph speed limit cars can pass pedestrians at a reasonable speed and if you have a pushchair (which I do) you are a matter or centre meters from a passing vehicle.

M53 JCT 5 eastham north, long standing series of pot holes., 15th February
Past JCT 5 m53 northbound where the m53 merges into 3 lanes on the first lane there is a series of deep potholes in quick succession. I counted 4 deep surface imperfections which have been there for in excess of 6 months. Potentially damaging the right side of suspension components. The direct opposite side m53 southbound approaching JCT 5 has three also. Could you please advise on potential repairs to improve safety as it is impacting on driver behaviour to avoid, if yes, within what kind of timeframe? Thank you

Litter both sides, 19th March
After recent accidents on the M53 between junctions 4and 5, sadly one fatal, there are a number of flattened trees close to the hard shoulders, but mainly the amount of litter all along both sides. Worst of all is the amount of rubbish on the exit slip road south bound at junction 5. Whilst cars are stationary at the red lights, seems a good time to empty out excess rubbish through the car windows, it looks like the day after the Glastonbury festival but no one to clean it up ! Would it not be possible to install cameras from the traffic light power source to fine these disgusting litter louts or at least a warning sign or two ?

Borderline Fly-tipping, 21st October
Previously reported to you, several bags of rubbish dumped in the ditch approx opposite No 24. Lowfields Avenue, Eastham. You passed it on to Wirral Borough Council who, today, responded that the area is a farmers field and within the boundaries of Cheshire West. They would, therefore, take no further action. I live at 40 Lowfields Avenue and am in Wirral, the boundary must be a lot closer than I thought.

Long pothole on the road where its eroded., 9th May
This pot hole has been present for about 7 months, its located opposite the road leading to some houses, when driving towards Willaston its hard not to enter it when there is oncoming traffic due to the road being quite narrow anyway. road is constantly eroding therefore the hole is getting bigger. unfortunately, this hole caused one of my tyres to rip and i wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else.
