Not a problem, rather a point of Interest, 6th December
Okay - many of you will know that Thurstaston Hill comes from Thor, and you may know about his famous stone hence Thurstaston (Thor's stone).
Now what is not so obvious, is that the A class road which leads to Heswall and passes Thurstaston is the A540. This is relevant, because there are 540 gates/doors to Valhalla.

Ok, you can now freak someone out with this factoid in the pub quiz.

Correction to press article dated 2013, 6th December
Https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/scandal-hit-west-kirby-grammar-school-3356882
I have just some research and found this article. Please read it and go to approx the 4th paragraph down. It mentions and I quote from the article as follows "He was hit with a series of allegations – which he denied – ranging from not reporting a foetus in a science room jar to being part of a bullying regime." end quote.
I can tell you, that the Foetus in a jar has been there since at least 1975, and if I remember correctly, it was on the 1st floor in the Biology Class (rooms began with 100 numbers, so could have been in room 103. Please, whatever else has happened here, do NOT blame Mr Hall for this, it is not his fault.
This school is massive, and he could not possibly know every inch of ground.
In 1975, the Head of 1st and 2nd years (lower years or juniors) and head of biology was a Mr R.G.Pearce, so as far as I am concerned, HE is responsible for this, or persons before him. That foetus deserves a proper burial, and I always found it creepy at the time.
Pearce was a nasty horrible piece of work and a real tyrant. I hope the bastard is long dead (seriously), he was not a nice man, I can remember his Lancastrian or possibly Yorkshire accent, and his tinted 'serial killer' glasses that he wore. Fat and overweight with slicked back black hair. A disgusting individual in an otherwise very good school. The only thing I really hated about the place was 'single sex' which is morally wrong. I am not against Grammar Schools, but totally against single sex education.
Please don't blame Mr Hall for this, because between 1975 to 2013 there must have been several headmasters, so why are they not questioned too?
This smacks of a witch hunt.

Dump of rubbish sweetpapers and fizzy drink containers, 10th April
Two weeks ago, I cleared away a whole load of rubbish lager cans take away boxes, sweet wrappers fizzy drink containers cake wrappers. This latest dump must have been weekend of 8/9 April. It is quite close to the access on the sharp bend on King's Drive, behind a bench which affords good view of Hilbre. There is is also the remnants of a fire. If this is becoming a favourite spot to meet and fire lit it could become very dangerous as well as being a criminal offence to dump litter.
