Water has been flowing across all lanes of A550 since at least December 2023. Unclear if from faulty drain, ditch or pipe. Cheshire West Council have advised its a National Highway matter to deal with. Road surface was extremely dangerous during the winter as road surface iced over and was not fully cleared by gritting.

Flooding, 5th April
There has been almost continual flooding across the end of Kingdwood Lane for the last couple of months. Nothing seems to have been done to rectify the problem. As vehicles are tending to move to the middle of the road to go through the shallowest point, it is only a matter of time before someone comes round the corner and causes an accident

Blocked or broken drain, 8th January
I’m just following up on the previous report I’ve sent reference number 5406833, with more relevant information.
On the 6th of December 2023 whilst travelling to work I had Nasty accident on the central reservation here whilst on my bicycle, as a result of this drain gushing water out across the road and central reservation a lot of black ice had formed and as a result of this ice I've came off my bicycle sustaining quite serious facial injuries, which has left me with a nasty scar and potentially further dental complications in the future.

Blocked or broken drain, 6th January
Water gushing and flowing across the carriageway where the pedestrian crossing is, the water goes right across the central reservation crossing right across to the other side of the road.
At this time of the year it’s extremely treacherous as that central reservation crossing becomes a complete sheet of ice, I’m not sure exactly how long this has been an issue but I know it’s been months atleast.
I can see this has been reported before but I’m reporting it again. The page asks before I come to this page does this pose immediate danger and in order to get this page I have to select no, however I think it’s very dangerous because it freezes over and it’s a very busy area for cars and cyclists.

Pot Hole, 5th January
Pot hole deeper than 50 mm. has been there for a week or two. When near side wheel on turning left onto the Parkgate road, enters the pothole there is potential for car wheel/suspension damage, or bringing an motor cyclist or pedal cyclist off into traffic. The pothole has been reported to/seen by the Cheshire West Highways department but they say it is not their responsibility but yours.

Grid/manhole is located on pedestrian island - water is pouring across highway. Motorbike in front of me struggled to negotiate flow, so easily could have resulted in a nasty accident. There has been water gushing onto highway for a number of weeks now.

The sign for the Flint junction (before the countdown markers), as well as the countdown markers themselves are overgrown with vegetation and not visible from the road.., 12th August

Junction sign for A548 Flint/Chester, westbound on A494 obscured by tall hedge., 5th June
The first junction sign (ie. before the countdown markers) is on the other side of a tall hedge from the road and cannot be seen. Not sure when the hedge was last trimmed down, but either the sign needs to be moved to the roadside, or the hedge needs regular maintenance.

Fencing is about to fall down, 18th March
We live alongside the main carriageway, the fencing erected in front is both falling towards us and the main carriageway. Each time a HGV goes past the fence gets sucked in and leans further each week.

Crossing not working, 12th August
This issue has been reported multiple times by many people including myself for what appears to be over a year.
This is a dangerous crossing for cyclists and horses to cross

Faulty lights, 4th August
