This problem is dangerous and urgently needs cleaning up. Several concerned residents have reported this since February 2024. Rocks - stones - sand on the Road, 4th April
The Northbound A12 slip road is down to a safe 8 foot wide track that is an accident waiting to happen This has been caused by the lorries and other vehicles leaving the Aggregate site at Coleman’s Bridge Someone has to be responsible for this cleanup I thought it was the contractors responsibility to ensure ALL lorries leaving the site were swept which obviously doesn’t happen In all honesty the whole area is subject to this problem caused by the constant in and out from the site without due care

Inconsiderate parking, 1st April
This vehicle has been parked overnight by the occupier. Bronte Road is quite narrow with cars parked on either side. We use our garage every day, and monouvering in and out is problematic as the front of the garages assist to turn out of them and avoid vehicles parked opposite. The boot of the vehicle is overhanging into the road and could easily be the cause of a collision. The vehicle is parked at the rear of 30 Bronte Road, Witham.

Dirty unkept roads/pavement/cycle track - Dangerous, 21st March
The Roads leading into Witham from A12 and exiting Witham (Colchester Rd) along the northbound slip road to A12 has had debris(stones, gravel, dirt and dust) for several months. This has become very dangerous when braking as depleted traction and dangerous. I feel an accident waiting to happen if not already. I reported this to MP Priti Patel on 2 March, 2024. I travel frequently to Witham with my work and the situation has not improved for some months. Is there anything that can be done to improve this dangerous and unsightly situation(LoveEssex)? Thankyou for your time in reviewing my comments.

Debris, 18th March
Nearly a month has passed since my report and yet the Hazards remain for both road and path users. The situation has been worsening for the past 3-4 months. The level of debris in this area is unacceptable. I have personally witnessed Tipper trucks under the brand Brice operating with incorrectly or partially fitted covers to loads exceeding the hight of the truck bed walls. As a commercial venture the quarry site needs to answer these complaints and clean up its act otherwise works should be halted. The whole junction is becoming a dangerous mess of potholes and debris. I ask you to inspect the pavement adjacent to the Northbound sliproad and ask if its reasonable for a road bicycle tyre to ride across. I wish to use this route out of Witham and currently i can not. Kind Regards

Mud a stones, 15th March
There is a ridiculous amount of mud and stones on the edge of both sides of the north bound slip road roughly 3-4 wide! This debris is being spat onto the foot/cycle path making it extremely hazardous for cyclist/ pedestrians from flying stones, slippery muddy path and puncture issues. It is also an issue for motorists, cracked windscreens and damaged body work. This is obviously from the quarry over Colemans bridge and has been like it for the last few months, I assumed they would get some road sweepers out to clean it up. Colleagues have informed me the south bound slip road is equally as bad.

Debris, 23rd February
The path is unusable by Cyclists and hazardous because of Mud and Debris. This is being caused by the Quarry works on the opposite side of the A12/Colemans Bridge/Colemans Farm. The operator is doing some work to clear Little Braxted lane however the movement of tipper truck from the site are creating a hazard elsewhere. The northbound sliproad joining the A12 is covered in mud and gravel substances which are being flung onto the pavement. I commute by bicycle on a daily basis and can no longer use the A12 Cycle path or Little braxted lane due to the punctures i am sustaining or risk of slipping when its wet. As a car driver i have also noticed decreased grip to the road in an area where cars are accelerating up to the National speed limit to join the dual carriageway. There is a risk car bodywork is damaged by stones flug up by a vehicles tires, potentially windscreens too. There is a trail of mud from the quarry site over the bridge to the marked location and it is quite clear that is the origin of the material. Whilst i accept the weather has been bad its clear vehicles are leaving the site with excessive material attached and it merits investigation.
