Large sharp edged pothole protruding into Workers Road near Church Farm on opposite side of road., 5th March

Tue, 05 Mar 2024 15:19:56 +0000
51.759006 0.203565

This pothole has been growing in size for months and is becoming a hazard for traffic travelling along Workers Road from High Laver crossroads towards Faggotters Lane junction. Two others nearby have been reported, so it would be sensible to repair them all and many others in the vicinity.

Two large potholes outside Church Farm., 11th January

Thu, 11 Jan 2024 00:30:49 +0000
51.759402 0.202551

Outside Church Farm, there is a long, wide and deep pothole with a sharp edge. Not able to measure as too dangerous to stop here on a 60mph rural road. Previously reported. The repaired pothole on the opposite side of the road is already in need of repair again. This is on a bend and is a prime situation for an accident. Cyclists , cars, large lorries and farm machinery all travel at speed along Workers Road, so please bear this in mind. It needs to be prioritised.

Potholes outside and opposite Whites Farm., 8th December

Fri, 08 Dec 2023 15:38:24 +0000
51.759441 0.202514

These potholes, on a bend, have been reported previously, a long time ago (more than a year). On the south side of the road, this one was repaired recently and already is becoming worse. Across the road, north side, this pothole is still awaiting repair. They effectively narrow the road, which has a 60mph speed limit!

Treacherous area., 6th February

51.7529 0.209429

There is a large area of damaged road surface in this dip. The extremely poor condition of the protruding drain and kerb on a tight bend has been prevalent for years. The road is reduced to single file. It appears to require immediate major remedial repair.

Numerous potholes along Matching Road., 6th February

Mon, 06 Feb 2023 22:22:21 +0000
51.759007 0.212122

There is no end of potholes along this road on both sides. Starting at High Laver crossroads there’s potholes opposite the entrance to Ashlyns, then continuing north, both sides of the road opposite Robins Acre. Continue towards Matching Green and there are several more areas which need to be made safe. Nearer to Matching Green there’s another large, deep pothole on a bend. I have already reported this a long time ago and has a cone and warning sign.

Where marked on the map, I believe a warning sign of a CROSSROADS is missing, but the post is still in place. Still travelling east on Workers Road, at the crossroads, the GIVE WAY sign is badly positioned. It is at the junction and not before. The speed limits on these roads is 60mph.

Pothole, 6th February

Mon, 06 Feb 2023 21:43:25 +0000

This is an area which appears to have been poorly repaired previously. It’s increasing in severity and is on a bend opposite a pothole due for repair. Doubly dangerous. Great potential for a collision.

Dangerous pothole., 3rd November

Thu, 03 Nov 2022 00:12:10 +0000
51.759353 0.202408

I have reported this previously and it’s been ignored. As this pothole is on a bend, it is obviously very dangerous to avoid it without crossing the centre of the road. This is growing in length, width and depth. I have just reported another pothole opposite Little Wilmores, towards Tilegate Green from this location. It would make sense for both these potholes to be repaired as soon as possible before there’s an accident.

Dangerous pothole., 3rd November

Thu, 03 Nov 2022 00:11:32 +0000
51.75904 0.196689

This pothole has been growing in length, breadth and depth and encroaching into the road for many months now. I have reported it previously, but this was ignored. This road is subject to a 60mph speed limit, has no pavement and is used by all manner of vehicles including cyclists and pedestrians. If this is inspected, could another pothole also be considered for repair? I’ll report that separately, but to help you identify it ~ opposite Church Farm a few hundred yards towards High Laver crossroads on the same side of the road. This pothole is in very urgent need of attention as it’s on a bend and to avoid hitting it, one has to drive around it risking a collision with oncoming vehicles.

Oversized pothole. CM5 0DZ, 25th November

Thu, 25 Nov 2021 23:04:25 +0000
51.75939 0.202382

This pothole is exceptionally large and extends from the verge almost to the middle of the road. Therefore as it’s on a left hand bend it is extremely dangerous and difficult to avoid. It was repaired badly about 3/4 years ago and is in need of more substantial work. It really needs to be prioritised. This is by no means the only dangerous pothole in the area. Along the road to Matching Green from High Laver crossroads there are in the region of 10 dangerous potholes which if unable to avoid because of oncoming traffic would cause great damage to motorists or cyclists. The roads radiating from this postcode are in dire need of inspection and subsequent attention. Using these roads has become a pretty scary experience. Damage to our car has amounted to a split in a front nearside tyre which had to be replaced along with tracking adjustments and both front strut replacements. Very costly ~ ££££’s.

Its near junction with Moreton Road by Moreton Gate, 11th April

Sun, 11 Apr 2021 11:01:16 +0100
51.738604 0.216108

This pothole has been here for months getting wider and longer as very heavy lorries are causing it to break away further. Its roughly 2 foot wide in some places and approximately 8" deep. When full of water unless you lived here you would think it was a very large puddle. This has been here for at least 9 months or even longer, getting bigger.Essex County Council have put warning signs up, I know we are not prioritised, but it is dangerous when both driving and walking.

Door on verge, 16th December

Mon, 16 Dec 2019 16:57:05 +0000
51.759155 0.197418

Where indicated on the map, there is a white painted interior room door laying on the verge. This is very close to the road edge. I have already picked up pieces of polystyrene. Travelling east along Workers Road / Tilegate Road towards High Laver church, there are further items on both sides of the road on the verges. For example - cardboard, a large sheet of clear plastic and two plastic containers. The door in particular is likely to be clipped by a vehicle. There is no pavement along this road and the speed limit is 60 mph. This does require immediate attention.

Atrocious road condition., 20th February

Wed, 20 Feb 2019 12:12:59 +0000
51.753119 0.209352

On the left hand bend marked on the map, there is a protruding metal drain which has become more prominent now the verge has been greatly eroded. Having avoided this hazard, there is then an extremely large pothole to negotiate. I have reported these sometime ago and needless to say, because of neglect, they have now become a serious danger to road users. To add to the danger this left hand bend is part of a ‘Z’ bend, therefore oncoming traffic would be unaware of a vehicle approaching in the middle of the road whilst trying to avoid the two holes. Please do give this priority.
