Flooding when it rains, 12th April
This is a newly laid section of road, we were told it would sort the drainage issues, but whenever there is moderate/heavy rain it floods, I believe worse than before the drainage works.

12”+ pothole in centre or road with vehicles parked on either side, 20th January
Impossible to avoid this as vehicles are constantly parked on either side of the road. Therefore hitting the pothole is not on risking damage to the vehicle being driven but there is also potential for the parked cars to be damaged as the severity of the pothole causes vehicles to swerve when passing through it.

Multiple potholes which have formed a bump., 17th January
This pothole has been an issue since I moved into an address on the road. I’ve had first hand experience hitting the potholes which is frustrating but I’ve also witness multiple cars coming down the road at nighttime and not seeing it and hitting the pothole and ramp at speed causing their vehicle to lose control momentarily. There isn’t much room on this part of the hill so all it takes is someone to hit it too quickly and end up either hitting the parked cars both sides or in the worst case a pedestrian or just causing damage to their alloys. The hill is heavily used by regular traffic, emergency services, motorbikes and taxis at all hours, every day so it will only get worse.

Big potholes opened up, 17th January
The potholes keep opening due to the fact the road is heavily used because of the school and regular traffic. It has been a recurring issue for many months. It forces traffic to swerve to avoid damage to their cars which may result in an RTC or a pedestrian being injured especially right infront of a primary school. Living in close range I have had many near misses both ways with traffic trying to avoid it.

Statutory nuisance light polution from police parking floodlights, 6th January
Excessively bright, badly directed, floodlights in police parking area at Whitehaven police station causing light polution statutory nuisance by shining brightly onto neighbouring properties and their windows throughout the night 7 days a week, spoiling enjoyment and sleep.
Police stations are not one of the exempt locations under the legislation.
Please get the floodlights replaced with lower-brightness units, and position and direct them better so that they light the required working area, but not neighbouring properties, including "across the road" neighbours who they are shining directly towards at present.
Legislation and case law says that it is not reasonable to require others to use blackout blinds in mitigation, and even with shutters, the light leakage is annoying and disturbing sleep, which is proven to have adverse health impacts.
Also, please stop ridiculously unnecessary routine use of blue lights and sirens when leaving the police carpark onto a massive, deserted, road with clear sightlines in the middle of the night. Be better neighbours! I'm not allowed to drive out of a driveway, or anywhere else, blaring my horn and revving my engine and with my stereo blasting full volume and flashing lights everywhere, and neither should the police unless they have a good reason AT THAT SPECIFIC TIME AND LOCATION. An adrenaline rush is not a good reason. And if it is somehow linked with trying to make the traffic lights change in their favour, find another way to do it in the nightime.
Thanks.

Pedestrian crossing beeper noise polution throughout night, 6th January
This pedestrian crossing has a sound signal that goes off at every cycle of the traffic lights, right through the night, 7 days a week. It's disturbing my sleep unreasonably. My understanding is that these are supposed to be on timers and suppressed from 11pm to 6am.
Please can the timer settings be adjusted or fixed ( if faulty), or if there is no timer installed, please add one. Thanks

Water discharge over footway and onto highway, 29th November
There is discharge from the property banking at the junction with Aikbank Road and A595 Loop Road North. The water discharges from the bank and over the public footway and onto the public highway. During this cold weather I have nearly had an accident getting out of the junction due to the road surface being slippy. This is discharging at the junction and is a slow run hence the freezing. The discharge also is present a little bit on the U4295 which is maintained by Cumberland Council however affects the National Highways Network more hence my report to yourselves. This has been happening for a while however I have only noticed it get slippy now during the cold snap.
