Water course obstructed by overgrown foliage, 14th November
The watercourse known as Harrowbeck has flooded my garden due to the overgrown Ivy on the boundary wall obstructing the flow.. This wall is the responsibility of Highways as it is supporting the adjacent road. In the past it has been cleared by highways when requested. Currently there is work being carried out by contractors on the nearby bridge over Harrowbeck, representatives from your Bridge department and the contractors(Metcalfes, Penrith) have seen what has happened this morning, the Metcalfes representatives suggested they would make themselves available to get this problem sorted out at the same time they are completeing the bridge repair project if instructed to do so. I have lived in this property for over thirty years and never seen anything quite like this.

Water is continually running down the main st., 28th September
For a long time now water is pouring out of a manhole GPO cover and running down the main road. It is now causing the gut side of the road to be green and slimy. The water ran from the manhole cover to the first road drain it came to, but is now running to the second. I am worried that in the winter it will ice up and cause people to have an accident in their car or walking along/crossing the road. No-one seems to want to e responsible for this problem.
