Pile of burnt wood, 21st April
Saturday 20/04/2024 at approx 15.30 Two men dumped a lorry load of burnt wood on derelict ground behind my home. They said they would be back to tidy it up but they never returned. They said they have permission from the landowner to store materials there. It looks an eyesore and a fire risk.

Pothole, 15th March
Large pothole present in the location indicted. Sick and tired of having to swerve to avoid this or being alert when cars in front swerve do the same. I was talking to another person in the area and they said they had apparently reported this themselves not long ago!!

A quarter of a YEAR on, hasn't healed itself, only got worse, 15th March
Just an update guys You'll see I reported this issue at the entre of the junction nearly a QUARTER OF A YEAR AGO, and the only thing that's changed is the area has become worse. Manhole covers with broken tar around them. Cacophony of a region at the juntion's centre.

Parked on the pavement and stopping wheelchairs also park on a junction, 8th March
The van from the photo, always parks on the pavement stopping wheelchair access. Two of the neighbours are disabled, and need to be able to access the pavement at all times.
From the photo you can see that the vehicle is also parked on the junction, causing multiple blind spots for drivers and pedestrians.

No active or passive pedestrian crossings for 2 primary schools, 4th March
In early 2022 the school crossing patrol for pupils attending Ysgol Gymraeg Trelyn and Pengam Primary (essentially opposite each other along Commercial Street) retired. She was not replaced and Caerphilly Council's assessment found that children did not require a safe method of crossing this road, despite endemic speeding and dangerous driving, illegal parking, frequent HGV usage etc.
An elderly lady was killed just down the road from here after being run over by a man driving dangerously just a couple of weeks ago in 2/24, indicating how urgent this issue is. Caerphilly Council still refuse to provide a safe method of crossing this road despite this tragedy, and pupils are endangered unnecessarily.
An ideal solution would be to install traffic lights to enable safe crossing along Commercial Street between the schools with an SCP assisting children as needed. This would also help with the issue of speeding. Failing that, a pedestrian crossing would still be an improvement on the current situation.

Potholes, manhole covers with large sections of tar removed, 27th December
Lots of issues regarding potholes and manhole covers with chunks of tar removed at their sides, causing more potholes. All right on the 4-way junction indicated. Cars making evasive maneuvers to avoid. You can see their point.

Flytippibg/overgrown brambles, 17th August
Reported issues mths ago & again last month, still nothing done.. Flytipping & overgrown brambles again. Agreed by council a few yr back this atea would be maintained due to issue with rats. Area in question is behind old council garages, on Pleasant View next to green area as you come in to Pleasant View from Tabor Road, on left hand side

Loose drain cover, 23rd May
A loose drain cover has been present for an age on the A472, Ystrad Myanch, right on the junction with Station Rd. All day, every day, click click, click click, click click, click click, click click. There's also a similar loose drain cover on the same A472 Rd a bit further up too, this on on the junction with Brynmynach Av. Stream leak is causing a constant river down the street, 18th April
There’s a small stream next to the street, I believe its now leaking straight down the street.. This is causing the whole street to get extremely dirty, it never dries up and I believe it is what is causing huge potholes at the bottom of the street. Can this be looked at asap please.

Multiple 2ft+ potholes, near railway bridge, 18th April
The council came to ‘fix’ some huge potholes in my street a couple of weeks ago.. All they did was chuck some gravel in the holes, now they are twice the size, the whole lane is absolutely bogging with mud and gravel. The whole section of tarmac needs redoing as soon as possible, its starting to damage my new car and I’ll be sending the invoices straight to the council if this isn’t rectified. The photos attached are from just a day after it was fixed. They’re much larger now.

Horrendous state of carriageway, 17th April
This section of road is a hazard to road users and could result in accidents. Huge potholes all along road which would damage tyres and cars if hit at speed. Also drivers are swerving into other lanes to avoid the potholes. Needs remedial action ASAP.

Seriously dangerous road surface missing, 14th April
This evening I witnessed a car swerving to avoid the damaged area and almost knocking a cyclist off his bike. I honestly thought he was going to kill him. It has been like this for 2 weeks it’s numerous times I’ve seen almost accidents
