Someone has dumped household furniture and mattresses in the small patch of woodland., 20th August
The What 3 Words location is 'kilts.partner.subplot'
As you walk into the playing fields from Chestnut Close there is a small bit of woodland (directly opposite the children's play area.). Just inside this woodland someone has very recently dumped their household rubbish. This includes Furniture, Mattresses and garden furniture. The woods and undergrowth have only been damaged in one area - which leaves a path in the direction from which the rubbish was dragged in order to get to its present location.

This track leads from Cockering Road, near Larkey Valley Woods Carpark, beside the woods, 22nd July
Fly-tipping on footpaths leading in to the woods from Larkey Valley Wood Car Park, previously reported to CCC, that has still not been removed by Canterbury Environment Company: Canenco, having reporting it on CCC Website several weeks ago. . . . Since then, a second load of fly-tipping has been off-load consisting of a mixed builders rubble, and dumped along-side the "stripped copper cabling" that was previously reported several weeks ago!
It makes the signs that were place by Canterbury City Council in the Car Park to warn about the consequences of fly-tipping almost, laughable.
We all realise that Local authorities are over stretched and under resource, but until offenders are caught and made an example of, the cost to the public purse, and the impact on the local environment will only get worse.

Larkey Valley Wood Canterbury - Car Park, 22nd July
Larkey Valley Wood - Car Park Case information - FLT003974 First Reported: Thursday, 9 June 2022
I have already reported this case of fly-tipping on two occasions now to Canterbury City Council since I first reported it back in June 2022.
I visited the Car Park today only to find that more rubbish has been piled there since then, with litter now being scattered across the Car Park.
This is a total disgrace, and undermines the efforts that all of us are trying to achieve in preserving Larkey Valley Wood a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Local Nature Reserve, that was given to the city council in 1932 by the then Lord Mayor of Canterbury, Alderman Frank Hooker, on the understanding that it would always be kept available to the public and managed by Canterbury City Council.
