Potholes all over Water Farm, loose gravel everywhere insist of being swept recently. Tow potholes have been marked with white paint when it is abundantly clear that the whole road surface is dangerous and covered with multiple potholes and piles of large loose lumps of broken road surface. Residents have been reporting this for years. Why isn’t it being attended to?

I would like to report a very large pothole that needs urgent attention. This pothole appears on the right-hand side at the bottom of the hill on route to Stelling Minnis. The hole is very large and could cause injury to pedestrians or an accident/damage to other road users including bikes and horses.

Inadequate road surface, 24th January

Mon, 24 Jan 2022 18:47:36 +0000
51.152328 1.114229

The road of Water Farm is of huge concern, last year we bumped into a gentleman called Kieran who informed us the road would be resurfaced early this year and we still hope for this. However, the road has become even more of a hazard than previously noted. The road is not only a danger to road users, i.e bikes and motorized vehicles but to the pedestrians too. The grit is loose and the holes large. Despite promises to have this swept following a near accident with our newborn baby whilst out pushing a pram, this has still not been done, our little one who is now a toddler..... should be able to walk safely without fear of tripping or slipping on the outrageous surface that is supposed to be "maintained by KCC" as should all the residents and visitors to the area. We would urgently request KCC visit the site to reevaluate the issue and action things quickly before somebody is seriously injured.

Loose gravel and uneven surface, 23rd January

Sun, 23 Jan 2022 14:50:30 +0000
51.152247 1.114052

The road at Water Farm is disgraceful, and has been in an awful state for years. There is a substantial amount of loose gravel, we were assured by Kieran from Highways, who visited the site on 18th August 2021, that he would arrange for the whole road to be swept of the loose gravel, and that plans were afoot to resurface Water Farm early in 2022. Despite my calling Highways the following month, nothing was on their records regarding his visit, nothing has yet been done. The road is a danger to all residents, who use it, including young children, elderly, cyclists & motorcyclists.

The whole of Water Farm is covered with potholes and loose gravel, 23rd January

Sun, 23 Jan 2022 14:03:00 +0000
51.152328 1.114229

I have been reporting this problem for years and apart from a patch put on some 10 years ago, nothing has been done to remedy the state of the road. It has now deteriorated to such an extent that is is dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists and motor cyclists. There is so much loose gravel that it is a hazard and certainly it is dangerous to walk in the road after dark. There is only a part of a pavement and this is covered is slippery moss which is a danger to pedestrians. Last summer, someone from Highways (Kieran) visited Water Farm and promised that a vehicle would be sent to sweep the dangerous piles of gravel! This didn’t happen. Kieran also gave an undertaking that the road would be resurfaced early in 2022. When is that going to be done. Please advise of the date for which it is planned. It needs doing before there is a serious accident involving an elderly infirm resident or young children who now live here.

Potholes and disintegrated road surface, 9th August

Mon, 09 Aug 2021 10:29:56 +0100
51.152184 1.11391

The potholes outside Nos7,8 and 9 have been there for several years and have become deeper and more dangerous. The whole of the road surface of Water Farm has disintegrated and is now a mass of loose gravel and holes. The road surface has had some previous patches several years ago but the remainder of the road is now in a condition which is dangerous to pedestrians and cyclists. An elderly neighbour recently had a serious fall. It really is time that some remedial work was put in place to improve this road.

This is in Old Road, resurfacing required? There is much loose material at the junction with Cullens Hill that creates a skid for braking vehicles.

Overhanging trees, 19th July

Mon, 19 Jul 2021 11:03:34 +0100
51.153189 1.108907

These trees are not managed and the refuse collection van, along with other tall vehicles continually hit the foliage/branches causing them to break off and block the road. KCC stated in the local newsletter that a clearance of 5.2 metres is required. Definitely not so here!
