Flooding caused by blocked drains, 16th March
All down White Horse Hill, from Hawkinge down to the A20, the drains on the right hand side are constantly blocked. When it rains this culminates in a flood at the roundabout at the bottom of the hill. Can all the drains be cleared out along the length of the hill and any at the roundabout? When its flooded, the roundabout is down to single file traffic and forces users to take evasive action. This issue has been going on for many years.

Parking illegally, 7th March
A white campervan and white van are constantly parked within 10 meters of the junctions on Uphill with Dragonfly Way and Heyford Close. This causes traffic congestion and problems for the busses. Today the vehicles are joined by 2 Ford cars sandwiching them in. Could they be politely reminded it is an offence under Rule 243 of The Highway Code: DO NOT stop or park: • opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space. Thank you!

Close to the centre if the roundabout, a pothole has appeared on the edge of a drain cover, exposing the sharp metal edge. It is approximately the size of a A3 sheet of paper and the depth of around 2-3 inches (all approximate as too dangerous to physically measure!).

Illegal and Dangerously Parked Car, 7th December
CY22 DYD Belongs to the same house as the van that often parks here illegally.
Had parked here every day since 21st Nov. Often facing the wrong way.
Tonight it is thick fog and the car is parked there again.
It is illegal to park: In a junction Facing opposite to the flow of traffic In a dangerous position
Police have been informed. They have advised me that the local authority (KCC) have full authority to issue penalties for illegal and nusiance parking and should be the first point of call. (despite the fact they claim they do not).
I have left 3 notes on the car politely asking them not to park illegally. I found one screwed up in the gutter.
So this is now anti social behaviour and littering, which the local authority also are able to issue penalties for.
Please do your job KCC before there is an accident. Its not hard just go talk to the owner of the vehicle. They live in the house right next to the car. Don't make more excuses.

Speed bump on motorway!, 6th December
(I clicked on ''pothole'' because no speed bump on motorway option) Very pleased to see this location was recently resurfaced. Very displeased to see that the people who done the job, somehow built a speed bump on the entry lane of the M20, leaving Folkestone.
I would suggest you take a vehicle and go recon there at 70 MPH - someone with feeble suspension may have a breakdown or worse, or it will be obviously a matter of time before lorries fracture that brand new piece of tarmac and you'll get worse potholes than the ones that have just been covered.
Regards.

Missing cats eyes and worn/ invisible road markings, 11th November
The road between the roundhill tunnel folkestone and dover docks is shocking. I live here so know the road, but when I travel on it at night I'm acutely conscious of the many missing cats eyes on this stretch of road, and the road markings are also very worn and invisible in places. This is a road used by many foreign drivers and large numbers of HGVs and is really dangerous.
Please can something be done about this. Many thanks

Illegally Parked / Damaged Verge, 9th November
These vehicles have started parking illegally again since 6th Nov 2023.
They have done this before and the council ordered them to stop parking on the Verge after causing damage to the grass and the police informed me they gave Rob the van owner a fine twice, once for parking here in 2022 and once for no tax in 2021.
They have caused amaged the grass verge again which could be criminal damage and are committing the following criminal offenses according to the highways act:
Parking within 10m (actuall on) a junction. Parking partially on a footway or verge. Parking against the flow of traffic with no red reflectors at night.
The van I imagine likely does not have a permit from the council to advertise the business on the road.

Illegally Parked Vehicles, 6th November
The vehicles shown are continuously parking illegally making the road and footway un-passable. Vehicles including other neighbours cars, delivery vans and supermarket deliveries and the bin lorry cannot get through and numerous people keep sounding their horns all hours of the night as they pass.
I have researched and the following offenses are being commited:
1. Parking opposite to the flow of traffic without red reflectors displayed at night.
2.Obstructing the footway to less than 1m so wheelchairs and prams cannot pass.
3. Parking partially on the footway.
4. Parking opposite another parked vehicle so other vehicles cannot pass.
5. Parking on a blind bend.
This is incredibly dangerous. The cpuncil have not acted despite reports for several months.
Police reports have been filed numerous times and the police have spoke to several of the vehicle owners already.

Request for Tree Preservation Order, 16th June
I would like to request a tree preservation order for the trees along this public path to the rear of 8 Gainsborough Close. It is a mature tree that contributes to the birdlife and wildlife in the region as well as being of visual appeal, a visual amenity. It is currently at risk of being cut down completely and follows the loss of many other trees and shrubs on this land

Damaged Barriers - Northbound Roundhill Tunnel, 8th June
The Hawkinge Town Council has received a complaint about the disruption of the traffic whilst the damaged barrier was being repaired, which continued for about 6 weeks. The party is interested to know why such repairs took so long and considering the importance of the route what action has been put in place to ensure any future repairs can be carried out quickly and efficiently.
