Footpath un-walkable, 2nd September
Run off from farm "bins" has made the ground so wet that it is impossible to walk on. The run off appears to be toxic. The only way to pass it is to walk on the field through the crops. Has been like this for a year, worse in wet weather (is only really walkable when frozen solid or there has been no rain for months).

Footpath and verge being damaged by horseboxes not keeping to their driveway because of uneven surface, 25th February
Some years ago the Council spent a considerable amount of money reinstating this solid surface footpath connecting Burrough Green to the main road at Westley Waterless. The horseboxes have mushed up the verge between the access road to the stud and are constantly driving on the footpath to avoid the potholes in the drive. This has caused a build up of mud etc and makes using the footpath difficult - buggies, tricycles, bikes etc can no longer use the footpath. This problem has been going on for months but the winter wet has brought the problem to a head.

Problem clearing footpath, 6th October
People have not been able to use this footpath all summer because it is waist high in nettles and brambles. I reported this over a month ago and nothing has been done. I therefore decided to deal with the problem myself. Unfortunately the owner didnt approve of this as she said that it was the Council's responsibility ,and in any case it was the wrong time of year to be clearing overgrowth because of wildlife! I have opened up the first section of the footpath. This footpath is one of a handful from our village and it is vital that people are encouraged to use paths to keep them open.

No safe path to school, 15th September
I live at 3 Bradley Road, and to get my 5 year old daughter to school I have to walk for about 150m on the main road before the pavement starts. The verge is not walkable on as it is full of very long grass, nettles and thistles and the ground itself is very uneven with holes and a deep ditch across at one point. The verge is very high as well meaning that it is difficult to get off the road when a car approaches.
Cars at this point on the road are not obeying the speed limit and often by the time they pass our house they are doing 50mph or more. This makes the journey very unnerving, especially as I have my 3 year old on my back as well as holding the hand of my 5 year old. It will be even more worrying when the younger child is too big to be carried and has to hold my hand as well.

Fallen tree obstructing footpath, 2nd September
A tree has been down for over a year in the corner of this field preventing access to the gate which is on the official footpath. The owner of the land suggested that walkers walked around the outside of the field to avoid fast moving horses in the paddock but this alternative route is now very overgrown. The actual right of way is obstructed by this fallen tree!
