Entire road may as well be a pothole given how poor the surface is, 27th April

Sat, 27 Apr 2024 23:24:00 +0100
51.438233 -2.606737

Entire surface is loose and already cracking in places. Has embedded only where tyres go, A 9 year old could have pointed out to the council when they laid it that this would happen, as that tends to be how the concept of downward pressure works. It's a terraced street, which means with parking on both sides, the vast vast majority (85%+) of the road doesn't get driven on routinely. It won't ever bed in, because it can't bed in. Which is why the same type of surfacing hasn't been used for any of the adjacent roads. Chippings are damaging car paintwork, get trodden into everything, and the drainage of the entire road is a mess as a result.

Car obstructing road, 27th April

Sat, 27 Apr 2024 18:53:37 +0100
51.437665 -2.594976

I asked the owner to move this car. She refused, yelling out of the top window. She claimed she had been told not to move it, she claimed it had broken down. I explained it could be moved and parked in the road extremely close by. Owner replied it’s electric and although engine is on, she will not move it. Highly dangerous, blocking road to all vehicles, emergency services etc. 18.36. 27.04.24.

Overgrown access path, 26th April

Fri, 26 Apr 2024 14:59:30 +0100
51.433133 -2.569398

Council has made very clear on prior (historic) correspondence that this area is property of the council estate and as such I'm not allowed to maintain it. This issue has been reported a fair few times prior directly with the Estate Management team, yet they haven't even graced the matter with a response. Over 3 years now, this issue hasn't even been dealt with in any form or way. The access to my property is unacceptably overgrown and badly asphalted, allowing the growth to take over. Beyond this being a nuisance, it's also unsafe as it becomes dangerously slippery due to all the collected silt and debry.

Cars blocking drop curb, 26th April

Fri, 26 Apr 2024 10:14:24 +0100
51.441522 -2.598963

The road has been re-surfaced meaning no lines currently and I also I haven't seen any parking enforcement officers walking down Warden Road for a while. We are having a problems with people parking in front of our (block of flats) driveway/drop curb (5 spaces in total). Is there anything that can be done/any officers to patrol and give tickets to these cars for blocking our private parking? I'm concerned if in case of an emergency we wouldn't be able to get in/out of our space. Many thanks.

Construction waste dumped, 26th April

Fri, 26 Apr 2024 09:15:56 +0100
51.457136 -2.575544

This has been here for months - been reported to flytipping website, but never removed. It's at the edge of the park where the path meets Trinity street and the end of Hassell Drive (next to last house, #2 I think). V similar to the other construction waste in Newtown Park, reported here twice and still in the system. Now getting very overgrown, so harder to notice, but several piles if you look.

Construction waste been dumped, 26th April

Fri, 26 Apr 2024 09:06:09 +0100
51.45746 -2.573613

This has been here months. Reported to flytipping multiple times - never been removed. It's in the flowerbed by the small grass area that houses on Hayes Close and Hassell Drive back onto, specifically next to the side of #31 Hayes Close. There is other flytipping round here too in the alleys, eg a bed headboard. This is prettuch identical waste to that I reported in Newtown Park in multiple locations, eg by trees next to Salvation Army carpark, near park entrance (north side), and near bin on bike path where 2 paths converge (near new climbing frame).

Double Yellow Lines extending too far from corner, 25th April

Thu, 25 Apr 2024 18:48:09 +0100
51.443309 -2.557595

The double yellow lines extending from the corner of Whitby road up both sides of Bloomfield have been capped and shortened for many years. However the new tarmac covering the old lines regularly wears off (every year or so) and means that incorrect parking tickets are issued to residents parking legally by parking officers who are unaware of the current extent of the lines. PLEASE can these old lines be covered permanently by hardwearing tarmac to the new shorter extent. These incorrect fines are a nuisance to people parking legally, and must be causing an unnecessary administrative burden to the council when they are inevitably cancelled.
