2 Lanes into 3, who has the middle lane?, 1st May

Wed, 01 May 2024 13:07:36 +0100
51.464752 -2.573098

Hello, I see a lot of near-misses or road rage being caused by this 2 lane road going into 3 lanes. Just before the merge, Lane 1 has a left+straight arrow, making that lane correct for going into Lane 1 +2 off the main road. While Lane 2 of the minor road only has a straight on arrow, meaning its for Lane 3 of the major road. However, the average driver seems to ignore/misread the road markings and there's often a fight for the middle lane. I think some dotted/dashed lines, like used on roundabouts would help prevent these near-misses and help the flow of traffic.

The fenced off area on Queen's Avenue reported last year still exists even thought the council has 'closed' the case 6 months ago. Surely the case cannot be closed until it has been resolved. This is a busy road with bus stops, students and school pupils trying to cross and a zebra crossing. Can the fencing obstructing almost half the road please be removed.

Giant Hogweed, 1st May

Wed, 01 May 2024 09:22:23 +0100
51.46206 -2.578357

I saw this this morning growing out of base of wall on pavement. Person with bare legs could brush against it, causing nasty photosensitive rash. Someone I showed photo to asked 'Is it rhubarb?' No, it isn't, it is poisonous - its saps causes severe blisters by making skin photo sensitive. Don't touch it with bare hands.

Subject: Safety Hazard Due to Awning and Advertisement on Charlotte Street, 30th April

Tue, 30 Apr 2024 13:31:22 +0100
51.45504 -2.603595

Description of Issue: I wish to report a serious hazard at the junction of Charlotte Street and Park Street, where an awning and advertisement extend about 12 feet into the road, obscuring drivers’ views of pedestrians and cyclists. This is particularly dangerous as the road incline causes vehicles to struggle to see and react to uphill cyclists. Additional Concerns: Residents are concerned as the awning also leaks onto Hill Street, limiting alternative routes and increasing the risk of accidents at this busy junction. Suggested Actions: 1. Trim back the awning to improve visibility. 2. Ideally, reposition the awning to avoid covering the junction, ensuring clear sightlines for all road users.

Pavement unsuitable for parents with children, 30th April

Tue, 30 Apr 2024 08:09:14 +0100
51.467655 -2.594483

Where Cotham brow meets the roundabout the pavement is so narrow parents with prams or walking children by hand are often rubbing shoulders with vehicle mirrors as the pass the marked crossing zone of the pavement. This is made hugely worse when people are trying to cross then you end up with people entering the road to make enough space. This is a heavily used junction but with a redesign there is enough space to enlarge these pedestrian pavements. Junction also encourages speeding traffic which amplifies the danger. Previously raised issue closed without resolution or any action.
