Broken Drain Cover., 8th January
Outside 16B South Street, Ditchling.The previous unsuitable repair has failed, as have previous attempts to repair. The previous repair appears to have been a builders bag stuffed in the hole & which was then tarmaced over. Please see attached photos. It needs to be repaired as shown in the last photo, further up the road.

This has been blocked for two months and flood water reaches half way across the road in heavy rain. I worried this will cause an accident.

Blocked drain on junction of Lewes Road & Nye Lane, 18th December
Reported by resident to Parish Council. The blocked highway drain that is situated outside one of the new build houses at the junction of Lewes road and Nye lane, to East Sussex highways over a week ago. Nothing so far has been done to clear it and the water flows down Nye lane and as it can’t go down the blocked drain flows across the road and drenches the roadside on the northern edge heading to the sports field. As I explained to the person taking my call when the temperature drops this will be a dangerous sheet of ice and as one mother said when asking what could be done about it, children on their way to school get wet feet before they start in the morning. During school run, this road is very busy. As I walked past, a coach on the opposite side caused a car to fall into this pothole because the road isn't very wide. I heard the car drop deep into the water.
