Poisonous hemlock growing on bank next to train station, 27th April

Sat, 27 Apr 2024 09:42:31 +0100
50.830282 -0.139973

There's quite an infestation of poisonous hemlock on the bank near the lift out the back of Brighton railway station. The plant is extremely toxic when ingested to humans and animals, and can also cause severe skin reactions if touched. I know this is a wildflower bank however it feels like this should be removed so that the seeds (flowers from June, seed from September time) don't spread further through the city.

Poisonous Hemlock growing along the side of the main pavement, 23rd April

Tue, 23 Apr 2024 12:46:21 +0100
50.824272 -0.133826

There's two poisonous hemlock plants growing along the edge of the pavement, where the pavement meets the wall, just by the entrance to Nelson row between Milner flats and the Kingswood Estate - the second is just past nelson row on the kingswood estate side and is smaller. This is of increasing concern as the Puffin Nursery is quite close to where the plant is growing and this is one of the most fatally toxic plants in the UK, with only a small amount (5 leaves even) being deadly to adults, and children are probably susceptible to less. It looks similar to the Cow Parsley the grows in other areas of Brighton, but the difference is that the stalks are green with red splotches whereas cow parsley stalks have a purple hue. When you remove it, which I really hope you will as it's posionous to all mammals (and people walk dogs round there) please take care and wear gloves as it can cause skin irritation as well, and right now, pre flowering, it's at its most toxic.

Someone has cut the drumstick off the kids' xylophone in the park so it's no longer functional - such a shame as the kids love it. Can it be replaced? (There used to be 2 and the same thing happened to the other one but it sadly wasn't replaced)

Street lighting not working, 4th April

Thu, 04 Apr 2024 09:05:40 +0100
50.828294 -0.14243

Street lights not working on pedestrianised Twitten Camden terrace. There have been a few attempted break ins along the street recently (reported to police) and I believe having a well lit alley at all hours would put off would be vandals and robbers. Please fix all broken street lights and install more. In addition, during Brighton football matches there are often people coming into the alley and urinating against the wall. Street lights and some other security cameras would surely put them off.

Blocked sewage drain on my property, 4th April

Thu, 04 Apr 2024 08:32:57 +0100
50.826472 -0.141449

The main sewage drain onto my property smells awful. Been seeping sewage for about two weeks I phoned the WB on Sat but was not seen till Tues. the WB attended job no 4659849 said it would need two vans to pump it out they would contact me which they failed to do. My neighbour's all reported smell and last night B&H washed the pavement and curb. I explained to them that the problem had not been fixed by the WB they said they would report it back to B&H. Still no contact from WB I got up this morning and for the first time my toilet was not flushing and my drains were now also overflowing. Help what can I now do thank you
