Pavement from Grange Road to Boundary Road overgrown, debris and muddy and splippery, 5th March

Tue, 05 Mar 2024 22:09:25 +0000
50.823155 -1.849569

The trees and plants on the pavement are massively overgrown both road side and pavement side making the exit into the field and 221 Ringwood Road very dangerous. As a pedestrian walking along that road the hedges/trees need cutting back and the verges clearing out as the rain is flooding the verges causing all of the excess mud and debris to spill out onto the pavement making walking dangerous and very slippery. The pavement in the evening is ridiculously dark because of how overgrown it is making it dangerous to walk down in the evening/night.

Water Unable To Clear From Road, Causing Pedistrians To Get Wet, 17th February

Sat, 17 Feb 2024 18:49:49 +0000
50.825697 -1.844405

On the 15/2 at 18:15 hrs approx whilst on a run I was absolutely drenched and covered with road crime due to excess water on the road namely Ham Lane B3073. The area from 50.799767, -1.936433 to 50.797144, -1.932792 appeared to have static water in the South Eastbound side around 1 third of the lane, which meant that drivers had no option but to go through it at speed, spraying water all over me, I was covered in water and dirt from the road & I was as far over to the left as I could be on the Cycle Lane, so really had nowhere to go. The Drivers where not really at fault, as it is a drainage issue, Rain was 1.2mm according to Meta Office for that hour, however I felt it was more like heavy drizzle and had only been raining for 20 minutes when I got to that area, so not really a down pour, so I would say static water topped up with the light drizzle. Can you please check drains & drain offs, I know that the fields do get flooded in that area. I run the area at least once a week & this has not happened before even earlier this year, so presume something is blocked.

Failing Road Surface has caused several areas of kerb to fail, 17th February

Sat, 17 Feb 2024 18:37:37 +0000
50.825697 -1.844405

On the exit of the carriageway into Starbucks site, there is several areas of road surface that have quite seriously failed, I would say not potholes, however it is the only option I have to report. The Exit Road failing is much so that you have to avoid them on entering into the carpark area via the exit by driving on the curb on the left side of the exit road, avoiding holes on the drivers side of the vehicle. There are signs of previous works that looks like it was not repaired correctly (bodge job) which has now come back to bite them. What 3 words ///most.fell.lists Address Oaks Drive, St Leonards, Ringwood BH24 2QA. I would also like you to raise with the Council about moving the Bus Stop & relaying the enterance to allow for vans to turn easier, as when I took photos today, I van had no option but to put both rear wheels on the pavement to get into the enterance, trying to avoid potholes.

Pothole, entrance to A31 St. Leonards roundabout, eastbound., 12th February

Mon, 12 Feb 2024 11:54:50 +0000

Previously repaired pothole, now breaking up. This pothole is hard to avoid without deviating from lane into roundabout. It is now quite severe and deep enough to cause damage to tyres/wheels/suspension. Attempts to avoid it are dangerous at this busy roundabout. Please repair as soon as possible, it has been a problem for several weeks now.

Sound Barrier, 1st February

Thu, 01 Feb 2024 15:09:51 +0000
50.834867 -1.825272

Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to ask how i can go about requesting for the current sound barrier near our home to be extended slightly. Since we moved in the road noise from the A31 is making it difficult for our infant son to sleep. We note there is a sound barrier but it stops out side the house next to ours. Right opposite our home there effectively no sound barrier. How can we go about having one installed, if we were to also part supplement the cost if need be? Many thanks for your time and attention Kind Regards, Mr James Hammond

Damaged signs, lighting and roundabout, 2nd January

Tue, 02 Jan 2024 12:28:06 +0000
50.829014 -1.836312

The mini roundabout on the A31 junction with Woolsbridge Road has broken light fitting and signage .Currently all the damaged lights and signs are laying flat on the grass. These are a result of numerous vehicles hitting them at speed. They have been like this for a number of years and there has been no work done to repair them. They are there for the safety of drivers and warn drivers of the roundabout. In addition there is a very large yellow sign indicating road work's in the service road in Nov 23. That sign should now be removed.

School traffic drop off, 7th September

Thu, 07 Sep 2023 07:38:33 +0100
50.837305 -1.824727

Monday to Friday every morning & afternoon parents taking & picking their children for St Ives school are parking on the corner shown, with no consideration for residents trying to pull out of Pineholt Close. When pulling out, you cannot see if there is any oncoming traffic until said traffic is on your bumper. Parents are parking virtually right on the corner of Pineholt Close joining the corner into Sandy Lane. Double yellow lines are needed to stop this. One day someone, whether it’s a parent or a child is going to be seriously injured. It is so very dangerous for all. There are a lot of parents & children on foot around this area.

Dangerous mini roundabout, 2nd August

Wed, 02 Aug 2023 13:00:50 +0100
50.829395 -1.836936

Dear sirs I, and anyone else to whom I speak on the subject, am appalled at the poor driving standards often witnessed in the area. One of the problems is the mini roundabout at st Leonard’s. For some time it has been challenging to get out of the village, as motorists do not see a reason to stop or slow at the mini roundabouts. If a vehicle is coming round the mini roundabout, cars will keep going, so that the vehicle with supposed right of way, has to slow, or sometimes even stop, on the roundabout itself, and meanwhile, the traffic keeps coming, as the cars behind those that should have slowed or stopped, also keep on coming, nearly pushing the vehicle coming round the roundabout.! That leaves no chance of traffic emerging from st Leonards/st ives! It would be an improvement if the st Leonard’s roundabout could be enlarged, giving more time for traffic to go round, and more chance of the A31 traffic to slow to go round the roundabout, and more time for traffic to emerge. I do not know if the proposed surf area, or whatever it is, is going ahead, and I pray it does not, as this would impact severely on nature, bats, and we villagers, roads, parking etc, but any development on that land means increased traffic, and increased danger on that roundabout, on which there have been accidents already. One local lady gave up driving after she was hit by a car that failed to stop as she was turning right. I consider myself a competent, and very experienced driver, but do worry when negotiating that roundabout, as I have nearly been hit, and had to stop on the roundabout when vehicles have declined to give way as decreed by the road laws, and the Highway Code. Many thanks in anticipation of your consideration of this request.

SSE excavation has undermined Oak Tree and caused it to lean into road where it has been hit by lorries, 11th May

Thu, 11 May 2023 10:52:23 +0100
50.840902 -1.82904

The SSE have dug a trench to lay power to a new property, the trench is within 450mm of the main trunk which is 600mm diameter. This has caused the tree to lean into road further than normal and it looks as though several lorries have hit it and taken lumps out. If the tree falls or should be weakened at the point of the hit it will bring down the main power feed for the Horton road and approx. 2 tons of Oak will drop into the road. Trench dug on the 9th May 2023.
