Repaint road markings, 18th March
Road markings separating the right turn waiting area and the carriageway nearest Tower Park need repainting. Too many vehicles are avoiding the potholes near the kerb and encroaching into the right turn area. Today there was a crash at this junction. Last week I had a near head-on because a driver turned left onto Yarrow Road carelessly. She entered the right turn area I was approaching in. The separating white line has been worn away.

Street light not working, 30th September
Lamppost '89' at the top of the steps for the footbridge crossing Dorset Way from Verity Crescent hasn't been working for at least 18 months. This is a health and safety issue as the top of the steps are in complete darkness and also a personal safety concern.

Unlocked abandoned vehicle, 3rd July
The vehicle has been there for four months - it is unlocked. Anyone, including children, could decide they might like to try and start or roll it.

Tree preservation order application, 29th July
We have a large sycamore tree in our back garden which we would like to be protected. we have over the last 10 years watched people remove the trees from their gardens and been approached to do the same with ours. We have had it checked, recently, and been told that it's a very healthy tree; therefore, as one of the only large trees left standing in our road, we would like to know if it can be protected?

Poor visibility., 20th July
When attempting to pull out of Halfords exit onto main road, there is a large bush completely obscuring the view of the oncoming traffic. The main road is a fast moving one and this is a dangerous exit. The bush needs cutting back to improve visibility.

Road is eroding and causing holes, 21st April
This top turning circle of the close has developed erosion of the road and holes have grown larger due to large lorries stopping, then turning the wheels to reverse to get round. This action is churning up the road and very damaging. It has got so much worse this past 6 months

Stinks, 15th March
I drive past here every morning and have to close car windows and vents.
It smells like a chemical factory!

Dangerous double roundabout, 15th March
Try using this in the morning, during a school run, evening rush hour or the weekend..
The roundabout itself is too small with a tiny mound that drivers go straight over. Constant queues mean that people misjudge moving traffic and just block it instead.
Traffic lights needed, much safer.

Rat infestation!, 3rd November
Rats everywhere!
There are neighbours on this side of the road who have chickens and others who feed birds so rats are in their element!
Pest control services advise that we all have bait boxes with poison in our gardens and seal up our homes.
Ive noticed that someone else has reported this here which shows how bad it must be and its not just me.
Ive emailed the council to see if they can help.

Rats!, 4th October
Rats in the area :( you sometimes see them at night down the driveways but now we have one in our house! We should be able to leave our doors open and enjoy the hot weather, when the factory isnt polluting our air, but now we cant even do that!! Our neighbours have also had rats so its not just us.

Stinks, 23rd September
Fed up of this constant tar like chemical smell in the air that seems to be coming from the factory behind.
Its usually at its worst in the morning and clears around 1300. Have to keep all windows shut over night and throughout day otherwise the house stinks as well!
Cant even use the back garden :(
Been years of putting up with this. No use reporting it as by the time someone comes out the smell has cleared.
Not healthy, im fed up.

Noise all round us, 16th August
Noise diary August 2019 16th August at 00.27 car horn beeping is early tonight, last night and nights before it's been at around 01.30 am . Generators are whirring metal is banging and the alarm or reversing jcbs are very audible. 00.30 metal banging alarm sounds. I can't get to sleep in my bedroom. 00.31 alarm or jcb noise again. 00.32 alarm or jcb noise beeping again. 00.33 sound of beeping and general noise suddenly dimmed. I think they've closed the door at last. Foundry is a lot quieter, All of a sudden but here come the first of this early mornings lorries to shake the house. No point calling out of hours as the noises aren't as bad on the ground. Plus it's not all the time so they'd just think I was a nuisance. 00.35 someone dropping paint cans on floor outside 00.47 house shaking lorry goes past. 00.50 foundry metal dropping. 00.51 loud lorry jangling. 01.04 foundry bang 01.14 dragging noise from foundry and now the beeping again, doors are open 01.15 noisy lorry,shakes house 01.29 foundry pouring alarm 01.38 foundry banging and clanging 01.44 foundry alarm or jcb beeping 01.48 dropping metal from foundry 01.53 foundry alarm beeping noise , 01.54 """""""""ditto 02.05foundry pouring alarm, window is pulled to now as finally cooled down 2.10 loud lorry 2.11foundry beeping alarm 2.12 foundry banging , loud alarm also then the clicking noise 2.17 dropping metal 02.28 called out of hours after banging metal and alarm became just too much to put up with, foundry doors are open . Can clearly hear. Going for a night time wander with my camera. Then I'm sleeping in the sitting room where only the lorries will disturb me, at least they aren't too often tonight Not sure how I'm going to function at This is a relatively quiet night!!!!
